As I have mentioned here, on ABCnews.com (see the story by clicking here) and to people I had talked with about the supermoon, I was neutral, not a believer or non-believer in the power of the supermoon. Notice I say WAS. I am starting to believe!
This earthquake off Japan is devastating, causing tsunamis, whirlpools off the coast of Japan and undoubtedly strong aftershocks. This was quite simply one of the worst earthquakes ever. A passenger train missing, hundreds of bodies reportedly floating in the waters off of Japan after hundreds of ships capsizing, and the "Ring of Fire" becoming active and earthquakes already reported this week may be just the beginning.
Yes, it was eight days before the supermoon was full. I know that in my original blog Daniel Vogler mentioned +/- 3 days from the 19th and things may go haywire. I think one thing to keep in mind is that devastating events happened just outside this window during past supermoons (the tsunami between Christmas and New Year's Eve of 2004 is a prime example, occurring around two weeks before the supermoon). I believe that the Earth may have already felt some of the supermoon's effects. It could be a huge coincidence that this earthquake was not influenced by the supermoon. But in my totally unscientific opinion, having no hard evidence to back it up, it doesn't seem like just coincidence to me.
