Songs that AINT about drugs, that you think secretly ARE about drugs

Craig Morgan - International Harvester

I’m the son of a 3rd generation farmer
I’ve been married 10 years to the farmer’s daughter
I’m a God fearin’ hard workin’ combine driver
Hoggin’ up the road on my p-p-p-p-plower
Chug a lug a luggin’ 5 miles an hour
On my International Harvester

Three miles of cars layin’ on their horns
Fallin’ on deaf ears of corn
Lined up behind me like a big parade
Of late to work road raged jerks
Shoutin’ obscene words flippin’ me the bird

Well you may be on a state paved road
But that blacktop runs through my payload
Excuse me for tryin’ to do my job
But this year ain’t been no bumper crop
If you don’t like the way I’m a drivin’
Get back on the interstate
Otherwise sit tight and be nice
And quit yer honkin’ at me that way

Chorus:
Cause I’m a son of a 3rd generation farmer
I’ve been married 10 years to a farmer’s daughter
I got 2 boys in the county 4-H
I’m a lifetime sponsor of the F.F.A.
Hay! That’s what I make
I make a lotta hay for a little pay
But I’m proud to say
I’m a God fearin’ hard workin’ combine driver
Hoggin’ up the road on my a p-p-p-plower
Chug a lug a lugin’ 5 miles an hour
On my International Harvester

Well I know you got your own deadlines
But cussin’ me ain’t savin’ no time Hoss
This big-wheeled wide load ain’t goin’ any faster
So just smile and wave and tip your hat
To the man up on the tractor

[Chorus]

I just heard this on the radio the other day and I remembered that I thought it was about drugs back when it came out a few years ago. Can't say I'm a big fan of this guy considering I've never listened to any other songs, but I can definitely see some correlation with drugs in this one. Or maybe I'm just an addict lol

Crazy by Gnarls Barkley

NSFW:
I remember when, I remember, I remember when I lost my mind
There was something so pleasant about that place.
Even your emotions had an echo
In so much space

And when you're out there
Without care,
Yeah, I was out of touch
But it wasn't because I didn't know enough
I just knew too much

Does that make me crazy?
Does that make me crazy?
Does that make me crazy?
Possibly [radio version]
probably [album version]

And I hope that you are having the time of your life
But think twice, that's my only advice

Come on now, who do you, who do you, who do you, who do you think you are,
Ha ha ha bless your soul
You really think you're in control

Well, I think you're crazy
I think you're crazy
I think you're crazy
Just like me

My heroes had the heart to lose their lives out on a limb
And all I remember is thinking, I want to be like them
Ever since I was little, ever since I was little it looked like fun
And it's no coincidence I've come
And I can die when I'm done

Maybe I'm crazy
Maybe you're crazy
Maybe we're crazy
Probably

Uh, uh

All the lyrics in this remind of getting high. Sometimes psychedelics, sometimes pot, sometimes opiates (especially the last verse).

The Used: "Blue and Yellow"

"Blue And Yellow"

and it's all in how you mix the two dope n water
and it starts just where the light exists
it's a feeling that you cannot miss the rush
and it burns a hole through everyone that feels it $ or soul

well you're never gonna find it
if you're looking for it
won't come your way
well you'll never find it
if you're looking for it chasing the dragon

should've done something but I've done it enough
by the way your hands were shaking
rather waste some time with you dope sick, so needing a fix to get well.

and you never would have thought in the end
how amazing it feels just to live again
it's a feeling that you cannot miss a good hit after being sick
it burns a hole through everyone that feels it

well you're never gonna find it
if you're looking for it
won't come your way
well you'll never find it
if you're looking for it

should've done something but I've done it enough
by the way your hands were shaking
rather waste some time with you

should've said something but I've said it enough
by the way my words were faded nodding out
rather waste some time with you

waste some time with you

There is a lot I see in these lyrics, that I relate to drugs. I put my comments in red.

There's a party in my head and no one is invited
And you will never come close to how I feel

From Solitude is Bliss by Tame Impala

Yea, I agree on that gnarlz barkley track. I always thought of dope when i heard it. I guess it dont take much to make a junkie think of dope tho. 8)

Glad to see this thread bumped.

And LOL's to Damien :D

haha everytime i hear Uncle Kracker "Follow me" i relate it to drugs, although im sure its not, and if it is HA! to everyone ive said" this song is about IV drug use." and they like"shut up man!"

^ if your a heroin addict listen to the lyrics and decide

You don't know how you met me
You don't know why,
you cant turn around and say good-bye
All you know is when im with you I make you free
And swim through your veins like a fish in the sea
I'm singing....

Follow me
Everything is alright
I'll be the one to tuck you in at night
And if you want to leave
I can guarantee
You won't find nobody else like me

And I don't worry 'bout the ring you wear
Cause as long as no one knows
Than nobody can care
Your feelin' guilty
And I'm well aware
But you don't look ashamed
And baby I'm not scared
Im singin...

yooo lol that was the song i said in my OP, im right there with u on that one yo. no way a dopehead can hear that and NOT think its about fuckin shootin dope yo!
LOL, glad iaint the only one that see it that way, cuz to me its just like a neon sign screaming "THIS SONG IS ABOUT IV HEROIN!" flashing everytime i hear it :D

by blackWATER? lol :D

anyways, want to add the drug u thinkin it about in ur post? u talkin im bout to bag it up like gettin the dope ready to sell or wat, i aint catchin the meaning 100% from just that post.

thought id add this

"Leave your mark under my skin
Oh my, how strong you are
And feast your eyes on my disdain
And hope this one won't scar
I will never belong to you again
I will never belong to you again
Push if you still need my pain 'cause I will never tell
And scream if you still hate my name
'Cause I'll be where I fell

COME SIT CLOSE TO ME
LET ME FEEL YOUR BREATH
[ Seether Lyrics are found on www.songlyrics.com ]
COME SIT CLOSE TO ME
HANDS AROUND MY NECK
COME SIT CLOSE TO ME
LET ME FEEL YOUR BREATH
COME SIT CLOSE TO ME
CLOSE TO ME

I will never belong to you again
I will never belong to you
And if I decide that I am alive then I'm diseased and ungrateful
And if I confide that I am a liar then I'm diseased and ungratefulAnd if I confide that I am a liar then I'm diseased and ungrateful and if I decide that I am alive then I'm diseased and ungratefulAnd if I confide that I am a liar then I'm diseased and ungrateful
Push it in 'til it breaks if it bleeds I'll be okay
Come sit close to me
Come sit close to me
Come sit close to me.."

I've heard multiple people refer to Wiz Khalifa's "I Roll Up" as being about rolling a blunt, as Wiz is quite the marijuana aficionado. It's really about literally rolling up to somebody in your car, and he says this. The one time the man isn't talking about smoking weed...

The one I like and IDK if it is or isnt about dope addiction but it sure as fuck sounds like my life...

Nine Inch Nails - every day is exactly the same

The album With Teeth was his first album after getting clean. Those lines sure as hell sound like kicking.... god is there a boredom any worse?

lMandy Moore & Zachary Levi Ost.Tangled - I See The Light

I See The Light lyrics

All those days watching from the windows
All those years outside looking in
All that time never even knowing
Just how blind I've been
Now I'm here, blinking in starlight
Now I'm here, suddenly I see
Standing here, it's all so clear
I'm where I'm meant to be

And at last I see the light
And it's like the fog has lifted
And at last I see the light
And it's like the sky is new
And it's warm and real and bright
And the world has somehow shifted
All at once everything looks different
Now that I see you

Eugene(Flynn):
All those days chasing down a daydream
All those years living in a blur
All that time never truly seeing
Things, the way they were
Now she's here shining in the starlight
Now she's here, suddenly I know

If she's here it's crystal clear
I'm where I'm meant to go

Rapunzel & Eugene (Flynn):
And at last I see the light

Eugene (Flynn):
And it's like the fog is lifted

Rapunzel & Eugene (Flynn):
And at last I see the light

Rapunzel:
And it's like the sky is new

Rapunzel & Eugene (Flynn):
And it's warm and real and bright
And the world has somehow shifted
All at once, everything is different
Now that I see you, now that I see you

Give me danger, little stranger,
And I'll feel you at ease,
Give me danger little stranger,
And I'll feel your disease

There's nothing in my dreams,
Just some ugly memories,
Kiss me like the ocean breeze

Now if you will be my lover,
I will shiver insane,
But if you can't be my master,
I will do anything

Theres nothing left alive
But a pair of glassy eyes,
Raise my feelings one more time

Gimme Danger, The Stooges

I looked up the meaning, and supposedly it's not about drugs, but about meeting fucked up woman, but I feel the lyrics can go both ways

Jack Johnson s go on. The last time I kicked heroin when I seriosly knew my run was almost over was when I first heard this song. Thr lyrics "bound by blood thats moving from the moment that we start" freaking floored me. Now everytime I hear it I get this nostalgic feeling and a flash back to that period in my life.

In my rear view
I watch you watching the twilight
Behind the telephone lines
With nothing to prove,
Or to assume
Just thinking that your thoughts
Are different than mine

In my rear view
I watch you
And I gave you your life
But you give me mine
I see you slowly swim away
As the light is leaving town
To a place that I can't be
But there's no apologies

Just go on
Just go on
There're still so many things
I want to say to you
But go on
Just go on
We're bound by blood that's moving
From the moment that we start
From the moment that we start

I see you perfect little eyes
Watch the shadows of the clouds
On the surface of the ocean
Out the window of a plane
I get nervous when I fly
I'm used to walking with my feet
Turbulence is like a sigh
That I can't help but over think

What is the purpose of my life
If it doesn't have to do
With learning to let it go
Live vicariously through you
You could do the same
It's the least you can
Because it's a lonely little chain
If you don't add to it

So go on
Just go on
There's still so many things
I want to say to you
But go on
Just go on
We're bound by blood and love
From the moment that we start

Just go on
Just go on
There're still so many things
I want to say to you
Just go on
Just go on
We're bound by blood that's moving
From the moment that we start
From the moment that we start
