Methadone Vs. Subs,Dosing,Energy Levels

Her susie I used to take patchesbut they never really did anything for me except they kept me not sick when i didnt have my heroin. And yes our bodies do need all the stuff you were talking about. When i was doing pills like oxys,morphine,
roxis,etc.... I wouldnt feel the effects after a while either I mean i dont get that 2 sec rush they kinda give, but overall feel the same way when im on methadone. I get nice and energized and never sleepy, but then you have people who totally get tired when taking methadone.

So this morning I saw the doctor who usually takes my blood pressure and listens to my breathing and basically asks me a few questions. Hes a very nice doctor and I told him i couldnt really sleep so he increased me to 80mg. So Jan 20th I started at 40mg and im at 80mg now. The cravings seem to be going away so I dont really think I have a long way too go. We will see how I feel, im just worried about the cravings.

You have to go down to 30mg first. If you taper properly you will not be puking. Just go down 5mg a week. You'll have mild withdrawals at most by doing that.

Withdrawals seem to kick in once your almost off it or if you lower your dose to quick. I think going down 10mg a week would be too fast.
 
To the OP - I am from New Jersey as well, and on MMT. If you need someone to talk to about it don't hesitate to message or e-mail me or something. Personally, I never had much luck with subs. I would always start using again within a week or two of starting them. But I have been on MMT for about a year now, and only chipped a few times way back in the beginning. It makes me feel good, almost opiated. I get a great glow for most of the day still. Makes me more motivated, etc. I am on 75mg daily now, and get a week's worth of take homes at a time. I don't want to be on it forever, but it honestly it the best I have consistently felt in a long time.

Whats up brokedown how you enjoying this crazy winter lol Cant wait until summer. Yeah man im from NJ actually grew up in little falls then i moved to Kinnelon man right around Wayne. I always need to talk to someone man my addiction is a bitch. Im actually on 80mg MMT right now because i had to get off Subs, they just sucked for me,,I always relapsed. Well if you scroll up you can see some of my story so whats urs like if you dont mind telling? Thank for the post man im def always looking for new friends in dirty jerzzz lol
 
Haha, cool man. I don't really feel like typing a novel right now, but i'll give you a brief overview of my deal. I live in somerset county, right near Morristown. A few years ago, my father passed away, and my minor oxycodone habit spiraled out of control and eventually ended up an IV dope habit. Then, I found out I had cancer of all things, and shooting dope was going to end up killing me, along with the cancer treatment, so I had to stop. Nothing worked before, so I finally got hooked up with the clinic here in Somerville, and it literally saved my life. Im stable on 75mg right now, and am just about done with my cancer treatment. Without methadone I defintely would be dead or at best rotting in jail/on the street. Life is still fucking rough but things are shaping up slowly but surely.

Just a short summary of my very long ridiculous life story lol. Hit me up if you want to talk more about our addictions and the Jerz and whatnot.

MMT vs Suboxone

Hi everyone, 30 yr old female from Montana here. I'm really new here but wanted to say hi and comment since this is my area of comfort and knowledge. I too, like all of you, have done the switch between methadone and suboxone numerous times. Suboxone absolutely does not work for me. I've tried it a total of 4 times now just to make sure and I finally accept that methadone is the only answer for me personally. I've been on methadone, off and on, for 11 yrs now. I know in my heart that it saved my life! Having said that, I have quite a few friends that Suboxone is to them what methadone is to me. I too have abused it in the past, very badly actually. At my high point my daily methadone dose was 260mg. I personally think that is a ridiculous dose for anyone to be on, yes, my habit was out of this world but 260mg was not necessary, I was chasing that methadone glow. My privilege level allowed me to take home 2 wks worth at a time and of course I was double dosing and then would be SEVERELY sick for days before I could go to the clinic again. I couldn't stop myself. I don't know how in the world I never OD'D considering the fact that I was feeding a benzo addicition at the same time, but I didn't, thank God! I did the cold turkey thing and I've never been so sick in my entire life, except when I did the switch from methadone to suboxone. I had seizures from the benzo WD'S and was sick for 4 months, no exaggeration! I'm starting MMT from Suboxone again this Saturday and am so happy with my decision. I will not knock Suboxone because I think it's a great medication, for others not me. I do have to say though that Suboxone has kept me clean for the last 6 months and 5 days so I definitely appreciate the medication being available to me. The problem is that it does not help my cravings AT ALL and I get SEVERE headaches. I know that if I don't switch back to methadone I WILL relapse, I'm absolutely amazed that it hasn't happened yet. Anyone considering switching to MMT from Suboxone make sure you know all you can about the two drugs and make the decision for the right reason, if you're only doing it to get high then methadone is NOT for you, methadone WILL kill you, especially someone without a tolerance for it. Anyone on methadone or considering going on methadone should definitely have a certain respect for it or you just don't have any business messing around with it! Thanks for sharing... I have a question for you or anyone else. My experience was totally with MMT for the last 30+ yrs [off and on] I switched to subs about 2 yrs ago and have a clean urine history since... and did for thee last time I was on MMT since i had monthly takehomes.

Do you... or anyone you know of who swiched back to MMT from subs who didn't have to go back to square one regarding takehomes. I mean if you've been clean and in compliance on subs... MMT should take that into consideration... shouldn't they? I did switch from one MMT clinic to another and they let me keep the same takehomes... but I suspect from subs to meth it's probably different?

To answer your question, you should be good to go, I did that, I was at a methadone clinic and quit went to an actual doctor's office for my suboxone and got to monthly privileges and then switched back to an MMT clinic. Even though I wasn't in an MMT clinic setting while on the Subs I still got my privilege level transfered to the MMT clinic because I was seeing my Doc consistently and didn't have any dirty UA's, except for my initial visit with him to get on the suboxone. This is of course a different state but I've done this in other states and all was gravy! Hope this helps hun! ;)
 
I could have avoided two near fatal car accidents if I would not have went onto Methadone. I could have also saved a decent amount of change. Probably wouldn't have to be on Suboxone. I only went onto Suboxone to get off the Methadone. Now I'm stuck on Suboxone. Although going onto Suboxone could have been inevitable. I hated waking up 5 in the morning to drive 30 minutes there and 30 minutes back. Now I only have to go once a month to see my doctor. Although he is a hard ass, won't let me be on any controlled substances and I have to take urine tests every visit.

Increase

Hey guys whats going on,thanks excan for sharing and subdude i Think u should be fine man they def should take that into consideration if you have had nothing but clean urines..

Today I increased to 85mg and I have been feeling good and actually getting a little more sleep. Like maybe 3nights a week im really tired so i actually get sleep. Today was pretty cool I got on the road on about 6 30 and got home around 7. My clinic rules but im starting to get worried. My parents are putting the house on the market and want to move down the shore which means im gonna have to transfer clinics which im def not looking forward too. Maybe the process will take really long so i get more take homes and I def could take an hour ride once a week and stay at my clinic now. The people are just really cool there.

I just had to buy a new lockbox for tomorrow. At my clinic if u dont have a box that locks they will not give you any take homes. One kid last weekend who just started forgot his box and was buggin out. As I was leaving he came up to me and asked if he could use my box but hell no, if the nurse would of saw that i would have been out of a take home too, that would be a pretty horrible sunday.

Im so much more motivated on MMT then subs.Im actually starting up my own website for music...Im actually really excited and I have not been excited about anything in a long time. If anybody wants to know about the site please send me a message,I would love to share the site with you guys..... Well anyway everyone have a clean,safe weekend....Thanks for all the posts :)
 
Higher mmt dose

Today i went in around 6 30 nice and early, i was having a little craving yesterday so I asked them to higher my dose to 90mg. They said they coudlnt do it but filled out the form to give to the doctor to see. Tomorrow I' should go in and they should have my 90mg all ready to go but we will see.

Im still feeling ok, still clean so its working for now.
 
OXYS,Percs and Meth OH MY!!!!

Dam what a day, so today i wake up and i go to the clinic getmy 90mg dose and go home. As the day goes on for some reason i call this guy that use to cut my hair. Well we start talking and soon after that he tells me he has every possible pill you can have.GREAT just what i needed NOT>> but u know me i end up going and meeting up with him. He pulls out roxis,oxis,percs,meth pills all u can think of. And he had prices that were just insane cheap. So i took some oxy 40's and some meth pills 10mg each. So I ended up just taking like 2 meth pills because i doubt the oxys would even do anything but i still got a couple.

I mean does anyone know on a 90mg dose if a oxy will even do anything.I heard after a certain dose of meth the blocker comes into play. The guy i bought from is on 18mg of meth and he tells me he takes 5 10mg percs and he feels something but hes only on 18mg.

No, you won't feel anything at that dose. Once your at 65-80mg the effects of other opiates go away. I was shooting grams of dope and tons of oxycodone for no reason, it didn't do anything at all but it was just my habit taking over because Methadone is no good at keeping me clean. Your already thinking about oxy. That's my point about Methadone not being the greatest maintenance. But no, you won't feel it. At 18mg, sure but not at 90mg
 
I get takehomes on Sunday as well. I have only been at the clinic for a month after being on methadone off the street for two years trying to maintain myself (not very well of course).

I don't know why so many people have a problem with MMT. I see a bunch of people there that have been going for a long time and still are at phase one, trying to mess with other opiates. It makes no sense to me. With me the done forces me to ignore the cravings b/c I know it wouldn't do any good to use at all anyway.

I sometimes get tired but haven't had major problems like falling asleep at the wheel or anything. I am a bit impatient and irritable but it is a kind of strange anger that doesn't really make me feel angry so much as I appear outwardly.

I look forward to getting more takehomes on one hand, but I know that it is probably better that I go every day and have that control so I can't do anything stupid.

I know that methadone has saved my life though. I am 1,000,000x better off than I was as a junkie on my own. I have something close to a normal life and can actually hope for a real future.


K'd out, how did you go about moving from MMT to SMT? I want to eventually get off of everything so I am thinking about switching to subs once I taper down to a small dose of done. Was it a painful process for you? What advice can you give me?
 
Tapering

I will never taper to subs, if i do that i will just relapse if mmt is doing it for you i would stay on it. Im on it for life!!!!
