The arrests are the result of Operation Scratch Off, an 18-month investigation conducted by the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force.

The task force seized a total of 57 gallons of actual PCP, the controlled substance itself, not the chemical components used to manufacture the controlled substance. The seizure was the largest of actual PCP in DEA history.

The arrests resulted in the unsealed four-count federal indictment of conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute phencyclidine (PCP) and three counts of possession with the intent to distribute PCP.

All the defendants are charged in the first count of the indictment with conspiring between July 20, 2009, until the present to possess PCP with the intent to distribute it.

Samuel Jackson is charged in the second count of the indictment with possession with the intent to distribute PCP on Dec. 9, 2009. Jackson along with Harris and McAfee are charged in the third count of the indictment with possession with the intent to distribute PCP on March 2, 2010.

13 people arrested in airport gun- and drug-smuggling ring

A U.S. Customs agent from Stockbridge and his wife, a Delta employee, face charges of helping funnel guns and drug money through Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, federal officials announced Thursday.

They were arrested along with 12 others after parallel investigations turned up $2.8 million worth of ecstasy, about 700,000 tabs of the amphetamine-like drug, stored at a residence in Chamblee.

U.S. Attorney Sally Quillian Yates said it was “the largest ecstasy seizure in the country this year" and the ninth largest in U.S. history.

Cocaine seized after box breaks open in street

Cicero police say they recovered 130 kilos of cocaine after a woman called to report that a box being loaded into a van broke open, spilling white powder.

Police said they received the call around noon Saturday from a woman who was watching people move boxes into a late model gold Chrysler Town & Country van parked on the street.

The caller reported that one of the boxes had fallen to the ground and had spilled open, police said.

Officers found the boxes of drugs, including the damaged box, but the people had fled, police said. No arrests have been made.

‘Killer’ drugs seized at Alicante airport

ALICANTE - THE first police seizure of a synthetic recreational drug only declared illegal in Spain last month has taken place in Alicante. A shipment of Mephedrone had allegedly left Asia when it was still legal in Spain; by the time it arrived at El Altet airport the EU ban had come into force.

As of December 8, any Mephedrone importer could end up being considered a drug trafficker, so the cache was seized, according to Customs. Mephedrone was first synthesised in 1929, but only rediscovered in 2003.

By 2007 it was available for sale on the internet, but over the course of 2010 it was made illegal in many EU countries and by the end of the year in all 27 EU states.

Prior to the EU’s December ruling it was still legal in 12 of them, including Spain, and sold as a ‘fertilizer or bath salts’, according to El Pais.

Mephedrone – also known as miau-miau – acts in a similar way to amphetamines, according to psychiatrists writing in the British Medical Journal. It is considered to be halfway between cocaine and ecstasy.

It gives the user increased levels of alertness, euphoria, excitement, energy and a higher appreciation for music; hence its popularity in the club scene. Side effects include excessive sweating, dehydration, increased heart rate or insomnia, teeth-grinding, anxiety, and dilated pupils.

We have reports that a huge pile of mephedrone shaped like the Kool-Aid guy was running around a Spanish nightclub this weekend murdering clubgoers and shouting OH YEA whilst firing automatic weapons.
