Announced so far:
After months of tough negotiations we are finally pleased to announce Shpongle have agreed to extend their stay in Australia to perform live at Rainbow Serpent Festival 2011.
The full ten-piece ensemble will include founding members Simon Posford and Raja Ram, together with live vocals, cello, drums, keyboards and ethnic and Eastern instruments that have helped to forge their fluid, evocative sound. From pure electronic beginnings of their early releases, Shpongle has evolved into a full live experience, crossing over into jamband and world music headspaces.
With their Melbourne show at the Forum Theatre sold out and the Sydney show selling fast we can’t express how fortunate we are to receive one more opportunity to experience Shpongle Live in Australia.
Mathew Jonson really is one of a kind.
He’s developed one of the most distinctive voices in electronic dance music: when you hear one of Jonson’s tracks, you almost immediately know it’s his.
His music offers a rare fusion of populist intensities and nuanced musicality, with a keen understanding for the needs of the dancefloor and the universal laws of house and techno.
Mat’s standards for sounds and presentation are exacting. Both on stage and in the studio, Jonson’s fealty to analogue equipment and real-time play serves as a standard-bearer for a kind of electronic music that goes way beyond the drag ‘n’ drop world of digital composition.
Last time he was with us in 2009 he was so hot he set a speaker on fire. So armed with a truck full of fire extinguishers we welcome Mathew back for Rainbow 2011.
Tomasz is without question one of the most successful producers in hypnotic and atmospheric trance in the world. Under this trademark, Atmos had released three albums, loads of singles and has countless appearances on compilations.

He has toured all parts of the globe, to every possible kind of event for well over 12 years now and with great success.
Last year we were rapt to have him perform at the Rainbow Serpent launch party, but to be honest there nothing like experiencing the magic of Tomasz’s music outdoors so we simply had to ask him back for Rainbow 2011.
