Ha well I met absolutely no one I had a pretty awesome time though, in regards to the missing girl, I didnt hear about that but I did however meet a random that went walkies and went to leave the grounds, she was pretty fucked. We ended up spending a good solid 10 hours or so talking her down and showing her how to guide her trip a little better. (luckily I have a fair few trip toys, they help)

Well had a great time, I have to say the highlight for me was Hallucinogen and Raja Ram

Definitely agree with you there Baysieguy. Raja Ram was great, so much energy and so cheesy in a good way. I cant help but feel that Shpongle just didnt work all that well live, it was still good but there was a few issues, mainly with the sound levels of the flutes and singing, and occasionally the pitch was a little too high as well but all in all it was a good experience.

Nearly made a fool of myself once or twice, nearly vomited on the Chai tent floor (damn shroom come up). Luckily I recovered and figured out how to walk again and left before I made a bigger fool of myself lol

I timed everything perfectly this time around though, planning the drug use ahead of time and keeping to the schedule worked well, I would probably have had only about 2 hours sober at rainbow, but was never too wasted to not be able to comprehend whats going on. Although had a little bit of an overlap of the speed and the LSD and it was a little hard to deal with for the first hour but soldiered on and was fine.

Also did anyone see the muppet that walked through the opening ceremony? that guy deserves some hippie justice (head full of acid and dropped off in the middle of nowhere) he didn't even look like he was tripping

Sorry I didnt meet anyone there, just lost track of time and had to show a few newbies the ropes. That and the guy who was ment to print out the PLUR map forgot

Awesome festival! the peeps I hitched a ride with from Sydney, two lovely kiwi girls had a high-rise, off-road van and do stilt-walking and fire-shows for a living all around oz. needless to say this was their fifth rainbow and I couldn't have ended up with a better prepared crew. we got on splendidly and I'm still hanging out with them in Melbourne.
As for the music, I found shpongle and hallucinogen over-rated. I mean yes they are pioneers of the scene so I got the feeling they were kinda resting on their laurels, they're gonna end up cheesy like infected mushroom at this rate. raja ram was just embarrassing. the dawn set however by kindzadza was amazing!
another musical highlight was Sunday night at the sunset stage, first amazing dub by the likes of antennae then evocative, atmospheric bliss psy by interpulse and ed motive.
the crowd was great except for the youngsters who left beer cans and bangs all over the place and left messes in the camp sites,booo!!
BTW I was a tall oke in a yellow dress and blue wig lol!
I'm definitely going again! I might even check out maitreiya in March.

KDD, not for me. Maybe it's my age. He obviously has a following that love his stuff, but felt it lacked the sound for sunrise, feel Dick Trevor would have been a better step from Raja.

How was the Shpongle show?

I think Hullucinogen would have been a better lead in to KDD. Raja Ram is fun and cheesy and got people in that mood and going from that to some more serious Psy didnt really work.

baysieguy1: different strokes for each I guess. I personally appreciate the geek who just gets behind his decks and blows you away to the tiesto-style posturing of Infected and Raja. That's for the mainstream. At euro teknivals, the artist will often be placed behind the speakers, as he's not there to display his ego..but that just old-school me speaking

And infected mushroom, Astrix, talamasca have become fucking jokes and shouldn't even be mention in the same sentence as psy/goa trance. /psy nazi

great weekend!!
shame I didn't catch up with you baysie plus other BLers (and other friends plus an interstate one too- too many people ey!?)
Friday night was enjoying rocking out in front of the big red bus. Great having the pool party Sat to cool down a bit. Music Saturday night sadly the little I saw didn't do much for me tbh- then again we didn't pay it enough attention was busy walking around and hanging out back at camp etc. Sadly missed Hallucinogen and Raja Ram- really should of made more of an effort to catch those guys..

Rainbow is such a great experience- from the music to good times with mates even the people watching - gload I went albeit the whole thing was organized late would of been good to stay longer than Friday early eve- Sunday mid arvo (we were pretty knackered and sun burnt by then however. and work Mon )
hope to go again next year :D
