I also listened to Chris Simmonds - "Old's Cool" the other day for the first time and forgot just how good a DJ and producer Chris Simmonds is. I've got some crazy old records of his - very chigago carteresque but with heaps of soul. If you can find any records of his buy them and send them to me please :)

Some of you might remember new young american primitive. The producer/remixer Greg Scanavino released the album in 1993. It is one of the best albums ever IMHO....also it has been truely hard to find copies of this album much less 12" vinyl. NYAP is now on you tube and I will provide the links below. If you remember NYAP check it out if not check it out any way. It is by far my fav and belonges in a thread of It's own. It was even described back then as trance/techno before "techno" became an umbrella term for all electronic music. It is truely deep

I will do at some point!!! But I went clubbing in Manchester last weekend, so not gonna be going clubbing this weekend unfortunately :(

I used to see Layo & Bushwacka loads at The End between 2001 and 2003. They were always excellent!!!! Haven't actually seen them for a few years though. I've never seen Ralph Lawson, but have only ever heard good things about him :) Hope ya have a good'un!!!
 
OMFG!!! Someone has just uploaded (IMO) the best ambient track of all time to youtube!!!!!

It's from Underworld's 'Everything Everything' DVD - after the last track (Moaner) has finished, and whilst the credits for the DVD are rolling, they play a version of their track 'Puppies'. The original version has loads of different elements, but the version on the 'Everything Everything' DVD is completely stripped-back - they get rid of the drums, vocals, and most of the synths, to produce the most amazing minimal ambient track! It's the perfect way to end the DVD, seeing as the last track (before Puppies) is 'Moaner', which is probably their hardest, most aggressive, most intense track. And so 'Puppies' is kindof like the calm after the storm.

^ I'm really digging this. It is in my favorites. Who is this British guy MCing. First MC I didn't want to kick in the shins. I always thought I would go to the other room in a party if someone starts MCing or rapping. I d rather be in the happy hardcore room or somethin.

MCing??? - I wouldn't really call it MCing!!!! I'd call it 'singing' or possibly 'speaking'.

His name is Karl Hyde, and he's one of the members of Underworld (the other member is Rick Smith, and the 3rd guy you see up on stage is Darren Emerson, who used to be in Underworld, but is now a big house & techno DJ).

Glad ya liked the clip anyway!

i got a free cd off him on saturday - i've got the card case still but it looks like i ate the cd on saturday night though as it's missing the actual cd inside and i have no idea where it is, plus there are teeth markings on the card casing. i can read you the tracklistings if you like. That's exactly what I thought, and I know several other experienced pill-takers who said exactly the same thing. Yet when I got one labtested in California, the lab said that they contained only MDMA. It's bizarre!!!
