I think in part it's complicated because acid house was a term retroactively applied to a lot of bleepy, thuddy tunes .

Now step back from the personal animosity you have for me, and a) prove your statements about acid house and b) look at the bookings for Timmy Regisford and show me another underground DJ who comes close to that success.

Remember though, most posters on EADD are British. A nation which believes it invented football because it was the first to bother writing up the rules. Despite the game having existed for... ooh, a few thousand years.

As for those bookings, I have been to:

Ministry of Sound - utter tourist shit

The Egg - utter shit

The Den and Centro - jahahhaha.... Used to be the END and the new owners renamed it the DEN....

Candy Bar in Athens, Greece--- almost puked....

And Pacha NY... hmmm we all know about the Pacha brand...

BTW, I not a dick but found your arrogance pretty shocking.
And the racial aspect is a huge part of the history and legacy of dance music (lots of music for that matter). I did not call you or anyone else a racist. But look at the history of race and music in the 20th century and then tell me the history of any type of music is not intertwined with race. With that in mind, many of the originators of this music we all love so much get quite offended when white europeans make statements like you did in the first place.

The summer of love was in 1988 right?

How can that be the beginning of ACID if it started to be played in Chicago in 84. For the love of all things, simply answer that???? And its not just me that is telling you this, others in this thread.

And so you picked out a few venues that you don't like, what does that mean? exactly? Do you see the amount of dates that man gets paid to play all over the world, while holding down a residency at the Shelter????

What arrogance saying that THE CURRENT STATE of EDM in Europe is light years ahead of the US? Read my posts again mate, my first reply to felix77...

We were discussing WHAT is, not WAS... And Europe in 2010 is just so ahead, just look at how many producers have moved to Berlin ( Once again I will use Seth Troxler, 2nd generation Detroit talent, living in Berlin)

It is 2010!

Point takes about you referring to 2010. But even your statement there is pretty pushy. Perhaps for the type music you like its all in Berlin, but for deep house you can't say that. Taste is subjective.

Regardless, you ran your mouth off about Acid and Timmy. Which is arrogant and exactly the attitude that got me to respond to your first post.

Have you been to any of those venues, and they are not a few? Have you seen the crowds they pull? They are utter clubbing with the true sense, shit holes. They are 2nd rate gig clubs. Maybe ask on the RA board about all those venues.

My interpretation of acid house comes from older generation of clubbers interpreting how the Summer of Love came about, not when it started in 1988, and I base my view on their points and experience and discussions. I will not change my opinion. Sorry. Why do you want me to to admit so much that acid house originated from the US? Honestly, I cannot understand it, will you not sleep later on knowing that I believe that acid house started in Europe, because believe me, I will sleep like a little baby tonight knowing that you share a different opinion.

Everything is subjective ;)

My interpretation of current house music, and many others, is the stuff Pedro, Rhadoo, Mathias Tanzmann, Zip when he is the mood, Nima Gorji. That is quality underground house music.
