Real raves (for clarification in the USA "rave" refers to giant commerical shitfests)

Hey Felix, a piece of advice....find out what type of music really makes you happy, then look for people playing it. Forget the drugs or the girls or the hair, concentrate on the music and you will then find the right parties.

aye this

This is a "real rave" for me personally :)

well this is not a rave, it is a teknival, my 1st one to be honest. I remember the last night some mad yellow speed was circulating, and everyone becamed paranoid, my friend was walking in the teknivl with a fucking Machete thinking everyone wants to kill him... Until we maked him sniff a HUGE line of K.

Great times...

Wow, you really are a typically cultural arrogant motherfucker.

Yes mate, I am arrogant when it comes to culture, that iswhat you get when you have over 3 000k years of heritage [BTW I am not from the UK ;) ] Lets not get to off topic though...

House and techno came from Chicago, NY and Detroit, period. There is no debate on that.

Can you not read, or do you interpret things the way you want to on a subconscious level... I stated that acid house started in Europe (which it did, but anyway) and that was filtered through to Chicago, Detroit which gave to birth to house, techno. Acid house originated in Europe. EDM was born here. Maybe the Beatles were for El Paso Texas?

Any Timmy, do you even know who the fuck that is? You heard of a little place called the SHELTER in NYC where he has been playing 5AM-5PM sets since you before you were even shitting in your diapers.

Haha mate... Do you even know where he plays in Europe? Probably not, but let me give you a hint where he plays/spins in Athens, Greece. At a club called Candy Bar ( Cheesy is an understatement for that place, makes FETA cheese taste like a Big Mac) with the warm up set by Dj DINO ahhahahah... Google it mate... I fucking dare you... DJ DINO FFSSS.... I could go on...

Yeah he was playing music before I was shitting my diapers... You know what else... My great great great great great .... .... ... grandfather was solving complex mathematical equations when yours was probably eating his SHIT, so yeah I am GREAT...

Fuck if it ain't WHITE and it ain't from Europe, its shit right? I bet you all invented jazz too.

HAHAHHHA... you played the race card mate, I never did... your first reply...

I love it when white Europeans tell Americans (who invented house and techno)

Get your shit together man... I even quoted Seth Troxler long before you came along in this thread... He is, dare I say it, African American....

Dude, you can take your fucking 150bpm shit and shove it up your ass, people like you will never understand.

Where did you this from...?! Maybe check out some of my older posts and tell me what I listen to?!

And I will be seeing Jeff Mills soon, I will make sure he tells Kevin Saunderson and Juan Atkins that techno came from European acid house.

Please do ;)

Europe did not invent house or techno my friend. Get over it and grow the fuck up.

Of course they did not. They invented acid house...

So lets debate mate. Start of by explaining your diss of David Mancuso and Timmy Regisford. How do either of them suck?

You my friend cannot debate, simply because you are racially prejudice, and hey that's not sp PLURISH is it now...

So when someone who seems to think Fabric is the beginning and end of clubbing says that the US scene ain't shit, well that is like someone telling me that blues was not shit until the Rolling Stones appropriated (stole) it.

Don't live in the past! FFS, I appreciate the Detroit sound due to my music taste probably much more than you, old and new (that why I quoted Troxler and Dear). Have you ever heard the sound system in Fabric? Probably not... Why not ask Jeff Mills that?! Fabric and Berghain have been around enough for my generation to have its own legacy. FACT!

Let me quote Francois K about the origins of Acid (maybe you have heard of him)?

Hasn't it already been established a gazillion times that Acid House definitely had all to do with those who were freaking the TB-303 at first, i.e.: DJ Pierre, Spanky and the rest of that crew?

Quote:
Origins (from Jahsonic)

In truth, acid house had already started long before the first 'Acid Trax' were commerically released. Amongst the scores of Chicagoans who were buying equipment and trying to learn how to make tracks was one DJ Pierre, who'd started out playing Italian imports at roller discos in the Chicago suburbs, and who had joined Lil Louis for his notorious parties. --Phil Cheeseman

"Phuture was me and two other guys, Spanky and Herbert J." remembers Pierre. "We had this Roland 303, which was a bassline machine, and we were trying to figure out how to use it. When we switched it on, that acid sound was already in it and we liked the sound of it so we decided to add some drums and make a track with it. We gave it to Ron Hardy who started playing it straight away. In fact, the first time he played it, he played it four times in one night! The first time people were like, 'what the fuck is this?' but by the the fourth they loved it. Then I started to hear that Ron was playing some new thing they were calling 'Ron Hardy's Acid Trax', and everybody thought it was something he'd made himself. Eventually we found out that it was our track so we called it 'Acid Trax'. I think we may have made it as early as 1985, but Ron was playing it for a long time before it came out."

I cannot believe this would even be questioned.... except maybe by someone attempting to re-write history to their liking, sort of like 'The Sarah Palin of DJs'.

(another American expression some Euro cats might not fully appreciate or understand)

Ok douchebag, you keep maintaining that acid was invented in Europe. I just quoted a pretty damn reliable source. So show some evidence or shut the fuck up already please.

Raga Bhairav - 1982 - Charanjit Singh

That was released 1982. Five years before 'Acid Trax' came out. So you're both wrong. Acid House was really created in India. :D

Europe did create a lot of genres, like electro, hardcore, jungle and trance. But it didn't create acid house or popularize it. That was done in Chicago. It migrated to the UK during that year (1987).

PS the first few pages of this thread are right about American raves. They are mostly commercial shitfests, and are very different from the free parties in Europe.

Maybe google the Summer of Love in 1988. That is not a statement from one dj ;)

Douchebag, what no inferior white European racial remarks this time?

And while we are at it, why are you not commenting on Timmy's European bookings? ;)

Among other things...

All you have to add is your argument on the origin of acid house.

So now you are saying 1988 is when acid was invented. Oh wow.

Show me the evidence that acid was invented in Europe, don't tell me to google. And I did not quote one DJ, I quoted Francois K, who is a legend, and he quoted, Phil Chessman, one of the preeminent EDM journalists.

And I am white and European, so leave that aside. Lets deal with your ridiculous statements.

The main riff to that tune is actually quality, not sure about the rest of the sounds in the track though.

Keep digging your grave. Let's look at Timmy's 2010 tour dates and compare him to your heros.
