I read books on my phone on PT but no way am I ever going to be ready to replace physical books. Not whilst they keep smelling so good!

Also, text books are a formidable murder weapon. Kill someone with a kindle, try it!

i've had a few clothing items in my hydraheads record online shop which i'm finally going to drop the money on this week.

All from Hydra Head Records Shop

ISIS Dulcinea

ISIS Big Mos T

and the Big Mos Hoodie. the Horkey Eagle T and Hoody are sweet as well, but i'll have enough Isis gear for a while, changing it up.

I have 2 monitors and I can highly recommend, it's one of those little luxuries that you wonder how you did with out.

agreed, i've had a 2 monitor setup for a while and can't imagine going back singular. i normally even jack in my asus 21'' into my laptop if i'm watching something in bed or on the lounge instead of loading the files on an sd or usb and playing it through my DVD player and TV setup.

this is from an S&T thread but is relative here.

I'm on my 3rd pair (one for home, one for work, one the kids lost :\ ). Love 'em. I overpaid at bestbuy ($30), but now realize they are cheaper online at amazon ($20). Available in black, red, and blue. I also use these when exercising, and haven't had any fall out whilst on the running. The main features I like are the inline volume control, as I use them on different devices with different output capabilities, so it's a quick adjust on the cord; and the nifty bundle device to keep from having to deal with long cords. The basic cord itself is about 4 ft, but the cord adjuster is pretty slick - basic design, durable, and keeps it to whatever length you want (sorry I can't find a image for you).

^i've just been looking for a new pair for my walkman mp3 and these caught my eye (ears) for comfort and ease while exercising. nice to know they're durable. i think that's twisted me into getting a pair.

i'm in two minds in wanting to really lash out on a decent pair i can enjoy during more leisurely activities such as bushwalking, fishing, boating and for when i ride my pushbike. something to block even my own thoughts out:) as well as something more for everyday use, that will get more wear and tear but easy on the pocket and cheap enough to replace from time to time if need be.

Nice looking tee's and hoodie lefty! If you're thinking about getting new headphones I highly recommend you check out this site:

http://headphones.com.au/

Even if you don't buy from them it's worth checking out the forums.

^i'll give that site a check. thanks.

aaron turner (isis vocalist) is part of the hydra head company so it's always good supporting my favourite bands. he's got his own site dedicated to his personal art he produces : Feral Pig - the aural and visual art of aaron turner

they're (the t's and merchandise) decently priced and deliver within a decent amount of time if you don't choose the $40 4-7 urgent air mail. my last order through normal USP took around 10 days.

i'm also window shopping for parts to make up my own desktop. just some simple to use for downloading, burning, decoding, word processing and some graphic design. got any recommendations for sites/brands/parts as i hear you're a bit of an IT whizz?:)

^You would be wearing a helmet when your riding right? So ear buds would be the best? I've thought about using my ipod when fishing but I think I would like to just get a little FM radio to have sitting next to me with JJJ on in the background. It's too peaceful fishing to have headphones pumping! But that's just me :)

Buying one of these Gshocks this week, can't wait.

Plus, I'll put a pic up of a cool pair of tweezers I want to buy... US made :)

^i've still got a gshock thats running that was a 13th birthday present. the band is broken so it needs replacing, otherwise it's still fine. they're a good watch

re: head while riding, don't wear a helmet while i'm riding out in the bush tracks out in the area where dad's property is. there's no chance of getting pulled up by police and i jump off and walk my bike down any rigid descents. obviously i'd be wearing buds riding around town.

there's quite a few locally made motocross trials and more 4 stroke syled trial rides that wind through the bush and along the river front area. there's a seating area with some basic amenities along the trail down that part of Mount Beecher as well.

i've just been ebay looking and have my bidding on a decent refurbished desktop computer. i'm not too worried whether i win it or not.

Yeh I'm a bit of an IT whizz, but the guys over here are certified, full-time IT nerds and have an up-to-date wiki on computer builds:

http://whirlpool.net.au/wiki/rmp_sg_whirlpoolpcs

Video editing requires slightly more RAM and a better graphics card than a typical general use, web-browsing, type computer. Which also works well if you like games :)

Building a system yourself is far more cost-effective than buying a pre-made one from say Dell, but you do so at the loss of some warranties. Individual parts will still come under manufacturer warranties and I think it's well and truly worth it. I mean if you wanted everythign done for you right out of the box then you might as well get a Mac. 8)

that's what i hear the most from people. i've quoted my own machines i've put down on paper after searching for the components to fit my usage and it definitely came out a lot cheaper than factory models that were inferior in most areas. i'm just a little rusty on my building at the moment, it's been a few years since i've tinkered properly and having a decent little toolkit would be a start as well;)

i won't be doing any video editing so a grosly powerful video card isn't necessary - i watch most of my torrents through my television as well. mainly just photo manipulation, logo designing in photoshop or adobe or whatever program i desire. i don't game either.

i just spilt a little coffee on this laptop before and i thought it nearly died on me so i'm definitely going to have to get something in the coming week or two. a backup of all my files is in order too, luckily i did it not too long ago so there's not a huge amount to catch up on.

toshiba or asus are my desired brands from electrical stores.

Got an email saying my watch is on the way! Wooo!

Funnily enough, I found my old watch when I was doing some raking in the garden today. I won't elaborate on how drunk I was a couple of weeks ago and how it got there (I don't know actually :D)

I have an awesome Citizen watch that cost me a reasonable amount a while ago. It needs a battery and the glass replaced (cartwheeling accident which also destroyed my acromnioclavicular joint - screw you booze) which would mean re-waterproofing as well and I just haven't been bothered spending the $150 or so it'd cost to fix it. I miss it though. Seems pointless wearing a watch though when my phone has the time.

^ I rate Citizen. Seiko, Casio and Citizen are good brands that are pricey, but not over the top. I just really wanted a digital watch this time, it's been years since I have had one. Most GShocks have a start/stop and a reset button but I wouldn't use them, the one I picked doesn't as you may notice. The coolest thing is that it illuminates when you tilt your wrist, that is so sick!

Been thinking I want a new pair of Sunnies. I'm just going to leave this picture of a pair of Frogskins here for inspiration :)

Just to clarify your error :D Video editing doesn't require a better video card, just loves a great raw power CPU and RAM. Photo manipulation like photoshop and stuff can be improved with a better video card.

PS cs5 is out but to quickly give a link from google, I found http://newtech.aurum3.com/software/adobe-photoshop-cs4-uses-graphics-card-acceleration/ to back up as 'evidence' :)

Yeah I like digital too but analogue is kinda awesome so I got a watch that combines them both. I really like the design still for something I bought 5 years ago. I had good taste then I guess :) I tried to take a photo of it last night but my phone battery died as the picture was saving and now my memory card is corrupted. Cunting technology!
