FIFA World Cup 2010

Yeah, shown again by the first Argentina goal, Sepp Blatter needs to get his head out of his arse and accept that in big matches there's no excuse for such human error.

Maradona is quality entertainment by the way! See him getting stuck in in the middle of the big scrap at half time breaking it up :D

Its interesting that Brazil are 4.6 favs on the machine, (I had 100 to 550 them previously) given that Argentina are through to the quarters the 5.0 available on the machine doesn't make a hole pile of sense.

lol England were so bad it would have been funny if it wasn't so pitiful.

Oh well, I'm going for Argentina now, they look great and have a shot at winning it I think. Argentina - Germany will be a great game.

Keano is correct in most of his comments about Englands failings during this world cup
Even though he did walk out on his country at the world cup in 2002 :|

Haha! Keane can always be relied upon to put his point across forcefully.

Not entirely sure that the manager is without blame (or that Keane's issue in 2002 with "the setup or organisation" is any different to that of some England player's problems with formation, etc).

But he's right about the players and the silly perception that they perform miracles in the Premier League when they actually aren't that good.

Maybe the Premier League just isn't as good as the English like to think it is.

i was pretty indifferent to the spain / portugal game but i was hoping portugal could get an equalizer to make it more exciting.. i even kinda wanted them to progress as i like rooting for the underdog

that all changed when i saw how they played anti-football, and how much their so called leader acted as though he was the only portugal player on the park. ronaldo was a disgrace today and should be ashamed of himself. it was almost as if he took everything SAF thought him at united and threw it out the window. granted, he was not getting much service from the midfield but his theatrics and self-centred style of play made me want to see spain go through. which they deservedly did.

looking like its shaping up to be a spain v brazil final, from my pre-quarter final prediction crystal ball :)

Ronaldo is just the same as Rooney, an overpaid, overrated useless twat, he was invisible tonight, I reckon the Spaniards totally deserved to win, they behave like a team, helping each other.

I just made a bet with a mate, 50 euros on Germany to win against Argentina, that will definately be the match of the tournament, Brazil is not that entertaining this year I'm liking Germany a lot better.

i dont agree that ronaldo and rooney are both ''useless'' - overpaid, definitely.

both have had great seasons in recent years but terrible international campaigns. its true what they say, having great players doesnt necessarily make a great team. but i dont feel that you can blame the managers either, players have to answer for their actions.

ronaldo was trying to be a hero and well, rooney just couldnt perform (for whatever reason). players are humans too and i believe the mental pressure from the hype of the world cup has most definitely had a big impact on the outcome of their performances. i dont buy into all this 'oh its been a long season' bollocks, they simply bottled it. nothing more. nothing less.

does tevez look slow? he has been running around like a tazmanian devil for man city all season

I think Brazil will win the world cup, they are a fantastic all round team. Their back four is particularly solid and experienced, that could be the difference between them and Argentina. The quarter finals are looking great, am literally salivating about Germany - Argentina and Brazil - Holland. :D

Good match earlier, spain look really good, knocked out my last team in the sweepstakes we did with family & friends haha
Anyone see if there was contact for the elbow that got the red card near the end? couldnt tell from the replay & this pc's too bad to look up online. If not that was an awful dive, player should be ashamed
