loadsss of player in world cup play in european leagues/champions league etc and havent displayed any of this 'phantom tiredness' though, and just to echo what keane recently said

terry had shit season, who the hell is david james not to mention green, if that his real name
rooney hasnt scored since march and is sporting an ankle injury
gerrard (arguably best english player this WC) has been shunned in anfield for months now for being shit
ashley cole hasnt done much all year, milner had decent season and johnson was ok for liverpool too but liverpool still shite all year, missing ferdinand who probs wud have got another back injury within one game anyway but thats no excuse anyway

lets just face it, england are crap and deserve nothing more than a 2nd round knock out.. i supported them in the world cup but just like italy, france, portugal and even the ivory coast realised - they are not a world class side this time around. maybe in another 44 years theyll have more luck.. but i wouldnt hold my breath.
 
yep youre right

some of the players have alot of potential but i guess its just the age old curse of great expectations when it comes to england in the world cup. im no expert anyway, and hopefully i can focus on ireland come 2014 and even in 2012 for the euros!

nice to see the tournament taking shape now anyway, plenty of mouth watering games (and im sure a few surprises) to come!

might as well get the popcorn out now and make the most of it :)
 
Ronaldo was a disgrace. He shoots everytime he gets the ball and plays only for himself. How anyone can compare him to Messi is a joke :p
 
What i want to know is where the fuck david beckham was, wasn't he meant to be our on-site cheerleader looked up to by the players and able to give valuable advice to the lads to help them out during the tournament?

Was he fuck, the FA wanted to squeeze all the licensing and endorsement revenue out of him they could. I didn't see any rallying cry from that cunt when rob green dropped a bollock. :X


On ronaldo yes he's a tosser but i'll give him some leeway as the whole worlds looking on and expecting him to come up with goods, real magic stuff that wins the game. You generally don't acheive that by playing as one of the cogs, tracking back, being unselfish etc.

It's every bit as good as we think it is mate, without doubt the best league in the world.

Mainly because it's 80% made up of really talented foreign players.
 
I heard a great story from a good source about the unrest in the England camp. Seemingly stevie G got his sister-in-law pregnant & there is a gagging order about it. Since John Terry had lost his captaincy due to his wandering nob & the whole team knew about it all, battle lines were drawn where half backed Terry saying it was a disgrace & the other half backed Gerrard. The press conference carry on was all to do with this & Terry wanted it exposed & had a fall out with Capello over it.

Bollocks its been circulating the internet for a few months now(April i recall) its just a malicious rumour and there's no truth in it at all thats why it ain't in the papers (for a change).

yeah i am looking forward to it, i hope it cheers me up a bit!

i just hope that we dont get a repeat of lads weeks portugal v spain game where it was so boring

i am taking time off work to watch this and hope it good, i love brazil as a country and their people and also love dutch people, so ill have to support the underdog as default.. would be amazing to see netherlands go through to the final (because lets be honest, whoever wins tomorrow is 100% guaranteed a spot in the final).
 
I'd agree with that, Uruguay or Ghana aren't going to be much of a challenge. Brazil are the favourites for the tournament now I think because they have a great back four and are very well organised. However Holland have been improving the whole tournament so could do it. Brazil - Argentina final is what we need. :D
 
I want Germany to reach the final, should be good to have Brazil and Germany play it out, such an opposition of character, the fantasy and creative play of the Brazilians and the dead efficient tactics of the Germans.

I said I heard a great story, I never once stated it was a fact. Back then there was talk of him humping a 16 year old bird, not his sister in law.

Remember the only reason we heard through the newspapers about the John Terry carry on was because the gagging order was lifted over his affair. Time will tell if this is a load of shite, but I wouldn't be surprised one tiny little bit if it were true.
 
Gerrard's bird doesn't even have a sister would be any fact checker's first stop ;)
 
And there goes Brazil... When Brazilians play 'European' football against European teams it can not end well....
