To long time RC users, how do you feel while sober?

Ive been using mephedrone for about 6 months now

and was using it nearly every night for a few weeks and have never used it less than once a week during those 6 months.

im now pretty much shot away
my memory is destroyed
my speach is slower
i feel alot dumber
i cant understand jokes
my humour has faded
I look alot more jaded (my eyes are bugged out and my jaw is grinded)

i am pretty much a vegetable now and feel too dumb to have a witty conversation with people.

I've used various 2c-x's and 4-sub-trypts for some time now, and some cathinones & aminonindans very sparingly and when sober i feel, well, sober. Sometimes I feel a touch off for a day or two after a trip, especially a strong one, but i don't find that terribly odd. When tripping much more frequently I did tend to feel a bit strange, but i suppose that should be expected as well. I usually only trip once or twice a month and use empathogens once every few months. Much more reasonable than my frequent indulgences when i was younger. I think frequent use of any psychedelic, rc or the "classics" can cause some residual weirdness. Responsible use can negate most negative effects, IMO.

I stick with tryptamine and PEA "RCs" only (no MDMA analogues/substitutes), and only a handful of times each year at that. I haven't noticed any long-term side effects apart from my eye floaters being a bit more prominent, sometimes with a little visual snow whilst really stoned, but these have been gradually diminishing over time as I trip less and less frequently.

Just wondering, since RC's aren’t researched that well, how do you feel when you are sober? Agitated? HPPD? Feeling sick? Have you noticed any long-term, short-term side effects?

1. HPPD, not too bad but noticeable. Even fun at times. When I smoke cannabis this comes out big time and sometimes it reminds me of either LSD trips or DOx trips.
2. Sometimes aggitated, and sick. But over time this goes away.

The best way to undo the damage of RC's is to eat healthy, no processed foods. Take a nice LSD or mushroom trip in nature, it really puts thing into perspective nicely.

DOX trips leave me kinda depressed and worn out and kind feeling "wanting" of something more magical, LSD and mushies are just the answer = )

"I have a friend who swears that 2C-I disrupted his ability to regulate his body temperature, though. However, it should be noted that this problem has never caused him any medically-documented adverse events-- it could be purely perceptual. "

Ever since I first tripped on 2C-E I've had random occurrences of night sweats and trouble not feeling overheated in bed. REALLY ANNOYING when it happens, but not a big deal as far as I can tell. Does anyone know anything about what could cause this?

"and i also have a suspicion that 2ce has done some damage to my GI tract/intestines/colon"

Also noticed that.

Regardless it's not too big of a deal to me as I still feel very healthy otherwise and 2C-E has given me so many amazing experiences. I'm pretty sure I'm done with it now though.

Lol, I've noticed 2c-i hits my GI tract, but never notice anything more then a few days. I feel like others that 2c's has made my vision more fuzzy compared to classic psychedelics, but that could just be a result of all the drugs combined. Nothing has ever seem to do me any harm, tho I noticed after bk-mbdb I felt more spacey the day after.

Ah man, that just seems like trouble. I wish you a healthy & fast recovery. <3 Abstain from everything for a minimum of six months. That includes caffeine, alcohol, everything. The human body is an amazing being, and it is very adept at self-restoration. You need to live it, embrace it, and hopefully with due time, recovery. <3

Since using DOC (once), I've had a weird visual processing quirk. When I'm looking at a visual field, certain objects lag, and then "pop" into existence. First time I noticed this was during a DOC trip, and it continues to this day. It's a minor nuisance.

Also, I decided to start taking an SSRI for hyperactive emotions when dealing with others socially (If I'm having a good conversation, tears of joy might well up (casual chat with co-worker, job interview); if I'm walking towards someone down a long corridor, the confrontation is fraught with undue emotional significance). Who knows if empathogens and psychedelics played a role in that? I think they did--starting an SSRI was like a breath of fresh air, made me feel like my "old" self again, really nice. Consistent with souping up a damaged serotonin system.

I doubt the long-term effects of most RC's would be much different from those of acid or other classic psychedelics, as we know that they work in the same way on the serotonin system. The most common effect is a profound change in one's outlook on life. After numerous life changing experiences, it's difficult to compare how one felt "before" to "after". It's as if you begin a new era in your life and nothing will ever be the same again.

I have developed mild HPPD from regular use of phenethylamine psychedelics, which seem to be worse for HPPD than any Tryptamines, MDxx etc. I should note that I was using them for a long time before the HPPD (which is a purely visual, and largely non-invasive phenomenon for me), became apparent. I actually don't really mind it, tbh, and do not regret my use of 2C's and DOx's.

i've been takin rc's since 2002 and back in 2005,while mixing shrooms and mdma i had brain zaps happen.i decided to take a break form weekly and monthly use of psychedelics and the following year i started to develope fasiculations(muscle twitches) in my back.they moved to my thighs and now they are pretty much all over my body and almost constant.i've been to a few docs and a neurologist and they pretty much told me not to worry unless i start feeling weak or start feeling numbness in extremities.i'm still strong but i still worry about a possible neurological disorder.after taking a break for a few years i've decided i want to do what i want to do while im still here to do it so i've started using psychedelics again but only 5 or 6 times a year at respectable doses, nothing too heroic .
as far as the way i feel sober goes, i feel great and dont believe any of the rc's i've done has given me any long term side effects.im not sure what provoked the twitches but i've been exposed to many toxins(benzene, xylene, jet fuel) many times so im guessing one of those are the culprit.

2CE might have messed with my temperature regulation as well. I find myself constantly taking off my clothing and putting more on and turning on and off the heat.

I also randomly twitch from it. Never happened on amps to the same same places and degrees I had on 2CE.

Oh yes and I misspell things a lot more often.
