the 2010 NBA playoffs!

as a basketball fan, I'm loving that the Suns and Magic are rolling.

I think this would be the most interesting Finals match-up us fans could ask for.

Orlando doesn't match-up to LA well at all. it would be another 4-2 series. Boston matches up well against LA and they would probably edge out the series, but the recent Boston VS LA matches leave a lot for me to be desired.

the Magic VS Suns would be pretty high flying, three point shots, Amare dunks, and Steve Nash cuts and bruises everywhere!
 
Ya if the Celtics win I want LA. If Orlando pulls it off I'm gonna be backing them. Jameer Nelson was fucking lights out last night. There is just nothing better than a Celtics vs. Lakers classic finals though. I'm not really sure what recent Boston vs. LA matches you mean. Care to elaborate?

I gotta say although he fills his role quite effectively Dwight Howard is over rated. He can dunk and block with the best of em but, that's where his skills end. Its like he has no left in anything else.
 
I can't really root for anyone left. The NBA season was over when LeBron and the Cavs lost.

Besides, Boston has won too many championships in too many different sports, Orlando has dirty Dwight Howard who loves the elbow throwing, and it's in Florida and L.A has won too many already and Kobe is a rapist.

PHX supports illegal aliens (right? wasn't there some stuff about "los phx").

Boo on all of them.
 
I think its funny how you Cleveland guys view Boston. I can relate because that's how Boston is against the Yankees but, its still funny. Its like a one way rivalry that we in Boston aren't even aware of.
 
again, coming from both spectrums (though I am hardly a Cleveland guy) it's not that Cleveland fans hate Boston. it's more that fans of sports hate Boston because they are winners. I'm a Steelers fans, look at that. Yankees fans know. Boston sports fans in general (more so in recent years despite the Celtics of old, know).

everyone hates Boston sports, usually Johnny. I consider myself a Red Sox fan cuz I used to live right there and met some of the players - they are swell bros. and I can't really root for the Pirates anymore.

just please pity Cleveland fans. say what you want, at least they still believe that something can possibly happen. with the downtrodden economy, it would be stellar for a championship to come through.

Boston played LA in the Finals a couple years back, was actually a good series, but I have been a b-ball fan for a long time and I don't want to see another Boston-LA. fwiw - I was more of a Magic Johnson dude than a Larry Bird dude.

anyways, I like the Orlando Magic too. you gotta like the physical Dwight who isn't quite as dirty as KG these days and Jameer Nelson is straight ballin'.

Orlando just doesn't match up that well with the Lakers, and I'm not down to watch that.

Oh I know we're hated. It makes sense sure. It just seems like in this thread in particular Lebron fans hate on the Celtics more than anyone else. I'm just saying I think it's funny cause I don't hate you. I hate the Lakers, Yankees and the Colts. To have the biggest name in a sport and basically ask for pity is kind of ridiculous too. Just know that I am a Lebron fan and I look forward to him maturing into a championship winning player.

That aside I like Orlando too. I want to beat them but, I have no problem with the way they play at all. Like I'm sure I've said before I just want the refs to let them play. I see nothing wrong with a nice physical game. If they do win I hope they win it all. I like scrappy teams like the Magic. Better than bitch teams like the Lakers;)

As far as seeing too much LA vs. Boston I'm only 28. I'm not sure how old you are but, before the Cs won in 07-08 they didn't since 85-86. I was 5 and it's not something I take into consideration ya know. They pretty much sucked my entire life until this whole "big three" deal so I'll take all the Celtics versus Lakers I can because last time it was fucking awesome and my boys aren't getting any younger.
 
at 6'11" and 265lbs, dwight's elbows are gonna do grievous bodily harm, whether accidental or not. i don't see dwight playin' dirty. i think a player like matt barnes, though, could def. be classified as, uhm, "physical". but, i love matt barnes...he's a bad ass.

i think dwight earned every part of the defensive player of the year, but that's where it ends. i keep waiting for him to develop more, i mean, patrick ewing promised us big things. but, the man simply can't shoot.

i'm so glad jameer is killing it. i wasn't a big fan before, and after the finals last year, i was pissed.

as for a lakers-magic match-up in the finals? i believe it'd go the same as last year, maybe slightly better. i think we play fairly well against the lakers, but physically not so much. it'd be pretty awesome if it was magic-suns, though.

When the next best player on Kobe's team has been excellent (All-Star or better), in the seasons since 2000, the Lakers are about to get to the Finals for the SEVENTH time out of EIGHT seasons, with Kobe serving as the team's leader for at least some of those Finals Appearances.

That's an absolutely amazing level of consistency.

Other than MJ, no one else in the past thirty years can accurately making that claim.

(Even MJ can't, but we'll let 6 for 6-ish slide as being as good as 7 for 8.)

Seriously - nobody - not Magic, not Bird, not Isiah, not Stockton, not Mailman, not Shaq - even though each of those (and several other) superstars had 8 seasons playing with a fellow All-Star, not one of them was able to achieve what Kobe will have achieved with one more win.

Good thing I don't believe in jinxes.

And yet motherfuckers still hate on the Celtics

Tonight is it in my mind. If we lose the magic are taking it. We need a defensive change to deal with those double screens. Davis is cleared to play which is huge. In order for us to win we need big Perk to do his job and then stfu. If we can deal with the screens without having people shift way out of position and if the magic will actually miss a few 3s I think we'll be good to go. Go Celts
