How to - Deal with LE.

Fortehlulz; what course of action would you recommend for police harrassment?

Walking in to the local police station and filing a complaing would be less than ideal.

I'm in a small town, and the cops must get pretty bored. 2 of my mates are under the spotlight at the moment. Both have never had more than personal amounts in their posession.

Mate number 1 had his car searched (without consent) 12-18 months ago. His car was parked in the main street while he was shopping. He heard from a girl who saw it that 6 men in Blue Police overalls shimmied his car open and tore it to shreds. Of course, they didn't find anything.

He wasn't there when it happened, so not really much he could do about it.

I don't think there has been anything since then, but the last couple of months the piggies have started to annoy Mate number 1 and Mate number 2.

Mate number 2 was driving his car with mate number 1 in the passenger seat. Cops pulled them over, said something along the lines of "we have reason to believe there is drugs in the car". My mates (and the car) were searched and again, nothing was found.

my mates said the cops looked visually frustrated and dissapointed when they finished the search and didn't find anything. The cops then checked license and registration, and booked my mate for his car registration running out a few days before. The cops told them to leave the vehicle where it is, and that they could pick it up tomorrow.

Tomorrow comes by, and mate Number 2 goes to pick up his car. Only problem is the license plates are gone. Mate number 2 goes to the police station to see what is going on and they tell him he can't drive without number plates, and it's not their problem. Mate number 2 comes back the day after and a competent (and non corrupt) policewomen is working. After another 24 hours she works her magic and arranges for the number plates to be placed back on the car.

A few weeks ago mate number 1 was pulled over and searched while a passanger in one of his mate's vehicles. Again, nothing was found.

I'm really disheartened by the law enforcement in my town. Most of the higher ranking officers (especially detectives) are either current drug users (and not just a bit of weed), ex-drug users, or on the payroll.

It's a little annoying when you have cops wasting your time. Is there really anything that can be done apart from lodging a complaint at the local police station?

Police don't need consent to search cars anymore after their new post 911 powers.

If your mates are being stopped and searched that often man, I'd seriously consider hanging out with some other dudes for a while. The cops obviously have a bone to pick with them and they will soon associate you with them, if they haven't done so already.

Tell them to avoid using drugs or having them in the car.

Let it go on for a while without anything happening, after a while tell one of them to get frustrated and have a rant about how they quit drugs ages ago, the cops are idiots for still searching them etc.

It worked for a friend, and the cops felt very stupid after months of harassment with no results.

^you can complain about police behaviour via your state ombudsman. In Victoria, police complaints can go to the Office of Police Integrity (OPI).

Bear in mind - a formal complaint means giving your full name and contact details. In Vic, unless the complaint relates to something pretty big, OPI will just pass it on to police to investigate themselves (Ethical Standards). So you might find yourself worse off after a formal complaint, or that nothing happens.

Recognising this, OPI will also take informal complaints against police, where you don'yt have to provide any identifying info. If they get enough complaints against the same officers/station, they will initiate an investigation.

Don't forget though - in a small town, if police know complaints have been made against them, they may well put 2 and 2 together and work out who complained....

^they wouldn't get told if OPI are following up on informal complaints - but may be easy to work out...

Same for police as drug users.

It's all about who you know.
Not saying its likely though.

Much more likely for the cops to work it out in a small town. Highly unlikely to do anything in the short term while the complaint is being followed up though.

Back in Australia, for me at least, bribery was the key. Wouldn't recommend it of course, but never failed.

Corrupt fat piggies.

hey

whats the law in NSW for possession and importation of salvia. Is it Leagal or Not??:?:?

"Australia #
On Jun 1, 2002, Australia became the first country to ban the possession of Salvia divinorum. Salvia divinorum and salvinorin A are listed in Australia's strictest schedule, Schedule 9. Although there is some minor variation in state law, the federal controls take precedence. According to Shaman Australis (see Salvia Divinorum legal information), the live plants are also illegal, although there is a chance that seeds are not covered under the current law."

As it is illegal, importation would very much be the same. I don't know how long the plant takes to grow but seeds look like the safest bet.

Doesn't take long at all to grow, also it is near impossible to get these plants to seed.

hey thanks for answer.

what about other salvia's like:
Salvia splendens
Salvia coccinea

Or just any type of salvia because i know whiles reading about it they only talk about Salvia divinorum and salvinorin A.

Any suggestions on the best way of doing this?
the only way you can really obtain salvia d is by knowing someone who has a plant and obtaining a cutting. I've never heard of anyone having seeds. The cuttings are quite sensitive too, the first few weeks it needs a constant and stable environment. It's grows ideally in humid conditions and once establised can grow quite rapidly. I've seen one grow about a foot and a half in just under 4 weeks. Don't try and import anything salvia d related or you will be raped in the arse. It's like trying to import a pot plant

Im in the southeast suburbs, hope this doesn't affect me too much.

I have a friend who has just two plants, just wondering what kind of trouble he would get in if it was found? I hear alot of mixed things about the legality of growing a couple of plants for personal use.

^Of course not, and if you had of been, contesting something like that in court would be extremely simple..

People forget, police need to prove beyond reasonable doubt that you committed an offence (thus why their speed radars RECORD everything) and this way the cop isn't just assuming you were speeding because his speedo read 140.

They can ALLEGE you did something - this does not make you guilty. They can be suspicious - this does not make you guilty. To be guilty of an offense you must be found so in court, or plead guilty in court.

Past History....

Hi guys just a quick one here.

But if you were dealing drugs a year or two ago and were speaking to a Detective about things these days, could you tell him you use to deal drugs and not get in trouble or would you be charged with conspiracy or something like that???

Just curious because this is something I have been wondering for a while now, also I would like to possibly become a police officer one day and do undercover work and this would probably be to my advantage.....
