ahhh yea, them the ones,,, little orange suckers that u could snap in half by just pressin on them while they were on a flat surface... couldnt remember the name... he used to also give us these little grey hexagonal ones aswell, ,, but dont think they were a benzo... i didnt really like them tho,,,
 
ive also got like 8 or so mogadon tablets,, the only thing is i think they are like very very old... they look fine,, packaging is still intact,,, they dont look as tho they have deteriorated at all,,,, do they go 'weird' or will they fuk u up (in a bad way :P ) if they r really old??? like at least 10 or 15 yrs old...

I think the bands name was Dr Vern, and they used to throw fake scripts into the crowd ;)

if they've been stored in a cool, dry place then the potency of them probably hasn't been affected that much.
 
does axanax give anyone else the hiccups... the last few times,, i have had it,, its done this to me,,, infact the only 2 times it has don it...?? any theories?? fully sux wen u fully in lace mode, and the fkn hiccups kinda ruin it... :(
 
Ok think this place is appropriate for this question.
Currently im a uni student (ie poor), and suffering from an anxiety disorder (never diagnosed officially, just from my own reading). In particular social anxiety disorder. I know that SSRIs are the first line of treatment for this type of disorder, but do not want to take one.

Basically, my question is, what course of action do I need to undertake to be prescribed a benzodiazepine for my anxiety. Do I need to see a GP to get a referral to a psychologist or psychiatrist? Im unsure which I even need to see, I have no experience here, and hardly even see a GP so yea, some help would be nice.

Also I can't afford expensive treatment sessions, so hopefully some or a lot of this can be covered under medicare.

Last if you think that this is some form of doctor shopping, it really isn't. I have a legitimate need just a bit clueless on the health system in Australia and what to do. Thanks

Benzos aren't a good long-term fix for social anxiety, I can tell you that from experience. It ends badly as you become dependant and tolerant. A GP or a psychiatrist can prescribe them, a psychologist can't though. Although seeing a psychologist and addressing the root cause of your anxiety is a good idea and will help you the most in the long-run.

I tried SSRIs and they didn't help me at all, I only got worse really. They can work for alot of people though, but they also don't work for alot of people.
 
Hey my friend asked me about the dosages for diazepam and oxazepam, but neither of us have any experience with benzos.
What would be a good starting dosage for each of them?

I believe oxazepam is somewhat weaker... there is a thread about it here in AusDD though, so don't take my word for it have a browse in there.

Also, if you are going to be using different benzos have a look at this chart:

Everyone reacts differently of course, but this is a good guide.

lol yeah happens to me too, on most benzos actually, and have started to notice it on opiates

I get the worst munchies from benzos, rohypnol was the worst though, I woke up one day after a bender and my mates reckon I spent about 30 bucks on burgers at the chip shop, I'd eat one, then head back down for another one, don't remember it, but woke up with bbq sauce all down my front lol
 
The reason oxazepam is shorter acting is that it readily forms a glucoronide and is eliminated easily. Diazepam is first metabolised to nordiazepam via N-demethylation and then to oxazepam.

So would that mean that the effects would be pretty similar, just the duration is different between the two?
 
From Rang et al; both are prescribed as anxiolytics, valium has muscle relaxing and anticonvulsive effects, while oxazepam is sometimes prescribed as an antidepressant.

Valium IMO. With the skeletal muscle relaxation properties on a good enough dose you can mold into the couch:) Mix with a join if your into weed, but not too much cause otherwise it masks the valium sedation.

Say 20mg-60mg would be sufficiant for a newbie/low tolerance user.
Mix in one glass of red wine for optimal effect but no more! Otherwise you will end up covered in dirt and lieing in a bed full of Mcdonalds with no recall of what happened.

Also drink one of those 1.5litre GF juice from coles to potentiate it.
