Sublingual. The equivalent iv dose is like .03-.06 which is way too hard to measure out unless you have a pre-prepared solution. I typically IV bupe when on maintenance but to get .1mg or so from an 8mg pill is a lot of guesswork and you end up picking off tiny bits with your fingernail so it is all approximate (I'll start with 2mg and divide it up several times. .1-.2 is being very conservative too, generally I am good with .3-.5mg every 10-15 minutes 6-8 hours after binging, eventually I consume the entire 2mg so I know how much I took and the guesswork for the split doses doesn't really matter since it all adds up to what you started with. 2mg usually dose it but sometimes 4mg is good just to be safe.

I really think anyone should be able to transition to bupe from full agonist opiates with zero withdrawal as long as they are a little patient.

Under these circumstances (taper BACK ON to suboxone), I only sublingual it. Just eye-balling it really, taking just a tiny bit of powder and seeing how I feel for 20-40min. Then a tiny chip. Then a bigger chip...
I won't IV any until I'm fully back and maintained on Sub for fear of pwd.

I just sublingual it because it is hard to get the tiny bupe doses you would need for an equivalent taper on and usually I am in a rush or in public while transitioning back on so it is just easier. I can't exactly be measuring out precise doses and prepping them for IV and then shooting them when I'm pressed for time and need to do other things in the process. I can be walking down the street or on the subway taking tiny chips off a pill while I take care of other stuff.

30-40min seems like along time to wait, after 10min I pretty much know I'm good and ready to dose again.
 
so how much subutex should i inject if its my first time? and from what i've gathered i should stir it and not heat it correct?

sorry for asking questions that may have already been answered. im working my way through the thread but im only up to page 8 and this question kind of is urgent.

Depends on:
(1) most importantly, whether you've taken any other opioids in the last few days. (In which case, none.)
(2) what your level of tolerance is.
I wouldn't suggest going over 1/2 a mg if it's your first time and you don't have a super high tolerance. (Then again, better not to inject it.)

.5mg IV is equivalent to about 1.7mg sublingual, so that's a lot for a recreational dose approaching the most you would want to do to get any euphoria.
 
i did dope about a week ago. i've been snorting 32 mg's of suboxone but now that i have subutex i want to try shooting it. last time i did that suboxone was 2-3 days ago.

You won't get any euphoria from any ROA with bupe until you are taking 2mg or less daily with no other opiates to boost your tolerance for at least a couple weeks. Also, it makes no difference whether you IV suboxone or subutex, they both can be IVed, just pretend the naloxone isn't there and that Suboxone and Subutex are the same thing for all intents and purposes.

That's also probably true, however some people still won't get any euphoria from IV buprenorphine, others will before the 2mg/day sublingual point. It's varied depending on particular individuals.
 
I'm confused about somthing. Got on bupe in clinic with dr and they leveled me out at 16 mg a day. And I was not using all that much. just pills not shootin. Then you hard core dudes say you only doin 1 or 2 maybe 4 mg a day. I put the thing under my tongue. Yous all slammin or I just for some reason have a high tolerance to bupe? If I last dosed 5 hrs ago and do some oxys or opana tonight and get back on bupe tomorrow morning is that .1 mg ment for shooting or under tongue? Think waiting til I wake up long enough? I'm hearin different anwers from yall.

Doctors over prescribe bupe. Plus it has an odd response cure where some of the lower doses 4mg and under actually seem to be more effective than the higher doses. I'm prescribed 16mg and take 2-4, usually 2 or less daily and just don't say anything since having extra suboxone comes in handy. I act as one poor addict's suboxone doc and give him all the free subs he needs since getting him into a program with medicaid/free clinics along with his income has been extremely difficult and I don't expect him to have much luck. I have plenty to spare this way and give it out to other people who may need it. When talking about dosing in this thread people mean sublingual dosing unless they say otherwise generally. I IV it often when on maintenance and I take an equivalent dose to 2mg sublingual which is about .6-.7mg when you adjust for the bioavailability difference.

I occasionally do use buprenorphine sublingually, and 2mg/day works nicely for me in that scenario. Most of the time I don't though.

16mg/day is unnecessarily high for someone with a pill habit IMO. 4-8mg/day is more like it. I did heroin for a whole year, and 6mg/day worked for me no problem.

When you wake up in the morning, take 2mg.

Take another 2mg whenever you feel is absolutely necessary (when you don't feel the first 2mg anymore). 2 to 3 of the 2mg pieces of an 8mg tablet should get you through a full day.

Some people only might need the first dose, some people may need 3-4 doses.

That's how I suggest to do it. If I were still using it sublingually I would probably take 2mg once to twice per day sublingually (possibly 3 times if I were up for a whole 24 hours).
