[VIC] Rainbow Serpent Festival 2010 - Jan 25, 2010 - Beaufort REVIEWS!!!!

Got my ticket=D! Looking forward to getting some severe lysergic stomp action happening.:)

Some friends are talking about going on the thursday. Does everyone recommend this? Just chilling and waiting til the music starts the next day. do people sometimes set up decks and speakers and blast music on the thursday?

As for costumes, not sure what I'm going to do. i was thinking of doing a Vietnamese styled caped warrior outfit (only Vietnamese coz I'm going to wear a conical hat). And I guess I'll have to make a trip to savers to find the ugliest haiwian shirt I can find:D

probably be rolling with a crew of about 10-15 people. Plenty of shenanigens will ensue.

haha sounds like fun ... anyone taking a 2way radio ?? ive got mine ready to roll with new batteries too .. so yeh i'll be on the radio the whole party :D

re the thurs .. ive only gone up on the friday before .. i think they do some music on the thurs though .. like sounds checks etc so there probably will be something happening

im going up with a couple of friends .. i just hope bitchy central doesnt start or im gonna flip ...
 
If you can get there thurs, I highly recommend it. You will get a site nice and close to the arena and wont have to wait in line to get in on friday.

Still organizing everything, got a really dodgy mambo Hawaiian shirt :) and working on my super psilo suite for monday.

Pissed off i have to fly down and can't bring my usual 5 star doof set up but at least i'm still going

12 days till i'm camping there and 13 days till the stomping begins

I remember when those mambo shirts were cool. I was in grade 5 then, and it was the height of coolness to have a t-shirt with a picture of a weird looking dog taking a shit.=D

If I can find a fusion of bad taste - hawaiian patterns and a dog shitting then I'm buying it, no matter what the cost.
 
We won't be going this year, Cassandra is too young to take her in our view (she's 3 months old atm). I think 1 year + 4 months old will be a good age to introduce her to RS. Just have to start working out what will make her comfortable. And make sure we can take all the relevant stuff for her along with the usual stuff we usually take to doofs. Might even lash out and organise taking a van or something, it will save time needing to pack up and stuff. <3

My mambo shirt actually has a floral design with kookaburra's and other shiz, it's a crappy brown background and awesomely terrible!

Not the trade mark dog doing the poo shooter ;)

Hey Samadhi, not having a go at you, I just love that you called him a doof elitist, that name is going to stick now.

Shame you can't make it this year, but know the feeling, as next year may be a struggle for me with all the outgoings I have this year.

Plenty of PLUR still around at Rainbow that's for sure.

Oh I know baysie, my comment was purely joking around <3 Both Pop and I are bummed not to be able to go this year, but we have a number of major plans this year, and after running the numbers, so to speak, we realised that Rainbow would have to be missed this year.

I can't wait to see the photos, though, to see what the site is like, and we'll definitely be going next year - we have a number of interstaters who are keen to come, so should have a really lovely crew/site. :D
 
I'm not going this year so that my first rainbow is with you guys ^. It just wouldn't be right if you weren't there for the popping of my rainbow cherry.

I've been to a shitload of doofs without showering over the past decade and a bit - as far as i'm concerned i only saw the light last year when I took a solar shower - I couldn't believe i'd missed out for so long... I guess when you go to doofs in remote locations where the only water provided is water you take in yourself, showering doesn't feature very high up on the list - also, all the doofs i've been to previously have been in QLD - where a good portion of the time there is a fresh water creek to laze around in - heaven!
