Bupe Suboxone/Buprenorphine FAQ and Megathread v.1; 2007 - 2010

It would be a very smart idea to listen to the people above and start cutting your dose down pretty quick, but I also think it would be wise to skip a day like the clinic is saying. That's how I did my last taper and it worked pretty well. I started doing every other day when I got down to 2 mg. So maybe don't double up your dose, but start skipping a day and them figure out a plan to get yourself down to .5 mg or less in those 15 days. It's going to be uncomfortable with that little time, and on your days off chances are you will feel kinda shitty and have trouble sleeping. Suboxone has a pretty long half life and it takes a day or two to go in to full withdrawal, so most of what you feel on your day off is going to be some slight withdrawals and maybe some strong cravings. It's probably not going to be too terrible. It's probably going to suck and be pretty uncomfortable, but in the short amount of time you have, it might be terrible if you don't do everything you can to taper off. Might as well put up with feeling kinda shitty for there next two weeks and have an easier withdrawal off, than having a good couple weeks, and them be in hell coming off. Good luck bro!
 
You're back on em 8? I am too. But I haven't used in weeks , just 2-4 mgs of sub every day or two.
 
Im I the only one that thinks coming off suboxone is a joke compared to dope? i really dont have much trouble coming off it, and i do mean everyday use at least 8mgs a day. maybe it was the other drugs i was using like valium and serequel , who knows...
 
i dont know why so many ppl are anxious to get off BUPE only to suffer needlessly then relapse back oto their old DOC..

If its working why fuck with your life

It's pretty well documented that bupe withdrawals are less severe but more lengthy than other opiates like oxycodone or heroin. It's certainly not a joke to come off of, though...
 
I don't think it was a joke. I don't think ANY kind of opiate w/d is a joke, even kratom w/d sucked hardcore ASS. But yea, if you were using a prescription sleepaid (seroquel) and a benzo (valium) it makes w/d a 100 times more tolerable.
 
My Bupe kick wasn't all that bad. It helps to have things to do throughout the day. And benzos.

The guy who was fretting about what he was going to do about running out of Bupe:

As others have said you can buy just a pill or two at a time at the pharmacy. Each pill may be 6 to 8 dollars a piece. Good luck!

Or maybe not. Im kind of confused on the whole percentages here. Correct me if im wrong but basically if i shoot the sub i get 100 percent of the effect and in turn it will take longer to get out of my system so doing any bags today is out of the question? Now if i was off the junk for two days and then i sniffed a 1/4 and banged a 1/4,now today is the third going on fourth and i still have 4mg whats the best way to do it and not be sick after its gone.:\
 
^^ Man , at lower doses like 2-4mg you wait less then 24 hours and you can shoot all the dope you want and feel it 100% , all that "You must be in withdrawal and wait at least 3 days or something may only apply to people who have been on high maintenance doses well over 8mgs) ,in short , wait like 24 hours after your last 4mgs of Sub and then get trashed on H or whatever your DOC may be cause you'll definitely be getting what you're asking for.

Unfortunately. Its a real pity the blocking effect doesn't apply at the lower doses.

I mean it was yesterday at about one i did the half (oh and one mg of kpin) now i still feel the effects this morning a little,how long untill i do another piece? I just wanna not be sick anymore and i think this is gunna wrk but only time will tell. Its kind of hard to stay straight when the person you live with is on roxys all the time and every dope dealer in town calls my phone even though i havent copped in four days.

It doesn't take longer for the buprenorphine to get out of your system by shooting it. If anything it takes a lot less time for it to get out of your system.

You can definitely switch between IV buprenorphine and IV heroin in the same day, you can probably switch at least 2 or 3 times within a day if you absolutely had to.

The best way to use it and to avoid sickness is sublingual.

I don't know why you would worry about that. Wait until you are no longer under the effects and are coming down before switching from a full agonist to buprenorphine. It's that easy.

I don't think so at all; this way buprenorphine can be a great analgesic when taken in lower doses, because you can always take other opiates on top of it.

No way.

When I go from from IV smack to IV bupe, I have to wait *AT LEAST* 18 hours before I start with the sub.

The process of switching from H to sub in total takes me FOUR DAYS - everytime.

Right now, is the first time I have felt "normal" since my last dose of smack. which was last Thursdy morning.

Going from h to sub twice in a day? Fuck that.

I'm talking from the point of view of someone that wants to recover/be clean. When you get down to the lower doses, sub stops holding you as well - and their tends to be a much greater risk of using. When I'm on higher doses, the thought of using just kind of evaporates from my head - as I know from experiance it won't work.

As soon as I get to below 4mgs I start fantasing/feinding gain - as its not hold ing me as well, and I know that if I was to use then it would work.

Well, everyone is different. Some people metabolize drugs quicker/slower than others do.

I never found it hard to switch from suboxone to heroin once in a day when I was using Suboxone sublingually. IV wise, buprenorphine wears off rather quickly (a matter of hours). I guess some people are also more likely to get precipitated WD than others?
 
I dont think I asked the right question, I have been off H four almost four days the first two I didnt take anything, then I iv the 1/4 sniffed the other. Now I have another half, if I iv the rest of the pill in small doses will i still withdraw when the subs are gone?
 
Another thing is how long do i wait untill i take the next dose if the last was yesterday afternoon
 
Im not trying to switch, was just a thought, I wanna be done with it all and I thought that sublingual has a weaker effect on you
 
I have only been on the box for one day and total when im done is probably four the h i was doing for a while but like i said its been four days without and i feel great
