Except I'm going cross-country, which requires less snow than downhill. Downhill skiing is like going on a ride in an amusement park, except the rides don't make you feel sick and the weather is meant to be miserable.
I'm just rather frustrated that it's hard to find the right sort of gear for hire in Sydney. Due to various time constraints we'll be arriving at about 2am at our first night's accomodation. I know of only two shops that deal in cross-country but neither have the right bindings on the rental skis!
