Winter appreciation thread

Except I'm going cross-country, which requires less snow than downhill. Downhill skiing is like going on a ride in an amusement park, except the rides don't make you feel sick and the weather is meant to be miserable.

I'm just rather frustrated that it's hard to find the right sort of gear for hire in Sydney. Due to various time constraints we'll be arriving at about 2am at our first night's accomodation. I know of only two shops that deal in cross-country but neither have the right bindings on the rental skis!
 
I don't like winter, however with my new goose down doona and lovely new pillows and sheets it is very nice to be spending my days away in bed. Unfortunately being in bed is due to a savage cold.. but goose down makes it all a little softer :)
 
A week of 30 plus days in melbourne and I'm missing winter before summer has even began.

Fucking horrible for business, too. :(
 
^ I just want some freaking consistency down here. :( One minute it's 19 degrees, then it's 33. What made it worse was spending a weekend in lovely 25degrees Sydney, then flying home to 35 degrees at 6pm. Shite.

It's gone straight from winter to summer, where the fuck did Spring go?

Must be that damn global warming I've been hearing so much about. Apparently the polar ice caps are melting, or something along those lines anyway.

What? The polar ice caps are melting? Fuck, I must be behind the times.

From my understanding, Melbourne weather has always (edit: and by always, i mean 'on record') been predictably unpredictable, and this is why it's shite.

I don't know if that's how I will word it this year, no finally. I like it, but don't love. Hopefully the fishing will be good this year and I will finally get a few Taylor, I've been chasing them for years now.

If I loved having a campfire in my backyard in the warmer months, you recon I would at this time of year! But, have only had a few recently :)

And I will say the word you could not say: "finally". Summer can fuck right off thank you very much :)

I am so much more comfortable in Winter, in all facets of my life. Why don't I just move to Iceland ffs?!!

Can't stand summer, especially when they try force an extra hour of sunlight upon my Russian blood :p.

I don't even own a jumper, I love the cold that much <3.

are taylor hard to come by where you're from bro? it's not too hard to get onto them over here in WA from what i hear, never fished for them personally though i caught one once on a herring rig haha.
