Recently when I was reading through the thread College Survey on Legalization I noticed the that vast majority of the bluelighters filling out the survey are atheist. On the other hand I see people that are religious and marijuana really helps connect them to their religion and beliefs. I was wondering if marijuana helped contribute to your beliefs and how.

Personally for me marijuana was a major contributing factor to me becoming atheist. I watch so much damn science channel all the time when I am high that I came to the conclusion that our existence is only the result of probability. Although I don't believe in faith or anything, I do feel it is simply amazing that something like human life could come out of our universe and I'm glad to be part of it.

I'm Catholic (not practicing) and weed hasn't really done much to push me closer or further away from my faith.

Cannabis opened my eyes more to why the catholic church is bullshit and strengthened my agnostic view.

praise jah

i consider myself a pagan...so sacramental plants are part of my world-view

1+ just like me but i really dont give a f*ck about it anyway.

actually, cannabis did open my mind a very little bit about some religions, buddhism deserving most of the interest

but nowhere near the interest level required to actually begin to practice of display signs of a belief whatever it might be

I have never been affected religiously by cannabis let alone any psychedelic drugs. I don't think I could ever affected by even psychedelics (I've had my share of strong experiences). My rationality just wont let me do it. Honestly drugs have drifted me farther and farther away from anything religious.

I'm agnostic btw.

Marijuana helped me realize that almost every religion that is in existence is based off of Astrology and some sort of plant or mushroom worship.

marijuana has made me a lot closer to God.

i even plan on giving a lesson to my youth group while high =) (i would have something to go off of lol, wouldnt just pull it out of the air)

I was baptized against my will as a baby. I'm now a godless bastard. It seems like it would be a lot easier to accept everything religion tells people without questioning it or realizing people who hear voices (regardless if it is God's voice or the Devils voice, nothing against people who hear voices I sure as hell do) are bat shit crazy. Maybe if I had smoked weed when I was 11 I wouldn't have abandoned Christianity, but I wasn't stoned as a child so I gave up on religion. I don't see why people would worship the holy ghost sober. The only time I've actually believed I saw ghosts or that they exist I was off my tits.

cannabis made me go from an atheist to an agnostic because it made me think tht saying you are sure there is no god is as arrogant as claiming you know there is one. I don't think anyone can be sure and thats why i switched to agnostic.

Without cannabis, I doubt I'd be the spiritual person I am today. I have a hard time with the one deity "God" figure though... so I guess my spirituality stems from belief in a universal energy.

I agree with that 100%. I wasn't raised catholic though, never even been in a church. I feel the same way about judaism, islam, basically every organized religon. BTW, I was raised as Jehovah's Witness. I stopped going though when I was maybe 12 or 13, basically when my mother would finally let me stay home. I think it's probably because she got tired of fighting with me getting me to go since I never liked it from day one. When I was maybe 16 or 17, my mother finally woke up and stopped going too.

^What most people don't know or understand is why Judeo-Christian based religions are bullshit, or all religions for that matter...

It's all based off of Astro-theology.

praise jah!

marijuana has not really changed my view of religion, but it definitely has opened my mind to think about new things, not just what i've been taught...

Agreed, it has opened my eyes and encouraged me to think about the way things work in an unorthodox way which is unique to me. No one has taught me my beliefs, I created them myself through deep thought. And they were honestly helped along by weed and E.

Big Stroonz: not to argue but could you list some major religions and how they are based on astrology and or plant/fungi worship? again i am not trying to argue or criticize what you are sayin i just want you to be more specific so i can understand.
