Amsterdam 2009 - who's going? (ver. EADD)

I've pm'd 9 folks so far, with your other half and Felix n' me that's 12 real possibles.

Am thinking us DV people will probably be wide eye'd n' bushy tailed afterwards (for some time afterwards hopefully hehe) so it would be good to know what you Saturday stoners are up to later on...

Are there any open all night venues in the city, when are the clubs open to?

If you're really strapped for cash, could try the coach option depending how far you are from London. Coaches go from victoria which are about 40 quid return (well they were late last year), get a cheapo hostel for a few nights and you're sorted.

They're not allowed to sell alcohol in any coffeeshops now, but when I was there last september there was quite a few bars (big ones in the main square too) where skinning up was not just allowed but encouraged :)

I would love a random amsterdam jaunt but alas I'm sick as a dog still so won't happen. Hope y'all have a fun and very baked time though :D
 
I'm going to be in Dam from the 11th July thru 14th with my girlfriend.

Completely randomly (she doesn't even know of Bluelight) my girlfriend bought me that holiday, including dance valley.

We're staying in an appartment fairly central and are busy with Dance Valley on the Sarturday but on the Friday or the Sunday we'd be TOTALLY up for hooking up with some fellow Bluelighters for a laugh and a smoke.

Anyone wanting to meet-up or anyone wanting company who's going to Dance Valley (you're most welcome to join me and my girlfriend) please P.M. me asap.

Only TWO weeks to go. Oi Oi!

Also, what's the simplest and/or cheapest way to get to the Dance Valley event from Central Amsterdam?
 
shambles go to www.skyscanner.net and check for flights, if u click WHOLE MONTH as the dates it brings up a bar chart with a graph of cheapest times to fly

still not got a hostel booked yet but my and another mate will be there from sat till tues :)
 
Ideally from Birmingham as it's the nearest and easiest airport for me to get to, but would go wherever the cheapest flights were, I guess. As long as the additional travel costs don't mean that it stops being the cheapest flight anyway :D
 
79 pound in total to fly out saturday morning and return tuesday- with bmibaby

or

92 pound total to fly from friday till monday - with klm

both into schipol which is a few euros train ride from central station.... all there on skyscanner anyway
 
Be careful with skyscanner the price is shows is very rarely the actual price you pay as it's not current. It'll usually say '£xx as of 3 days ago' when you actually go into the site to book it'll be different.
 
skyscanner also seems to be rarely the cheapest last few times i've looked at it i've managed to beat the price just by looking at lastminute and expedia etc

The Dutch are a very pragmatic & sensible lot (probably why they're so laid back!) Alcohol & strong cannabis isn't a good idea unless you want lots of vomiting & trouble. Coffeshops do a lovely freshly squeezed orange juice thing thaty simply has to be tried when stoned


I wish I was going, but c'est la vie! Maybe some other timer in the future...

Just a bit of a heads up - the Rembrantsplein is the gay district , so unless you're of that persuasion, remember before idlly wandering into bars - it can lead to a few embarrassing moments!

in fact i checked the bmi website for the laugh as spade and evad mentioned discrepencies with the skyscanner website, and it actually works out cheaper on bmi - 59 quid or sometihng (presuming you dont pay the 7 odd pound for insurance)
 
Right, I am finally in! I'll be there from around noon on Thursday 9th till the evening of Tuesday 14th. I'm in a hotel near Dam Square and the Leidseplein. I will almost certainly be going to Dance Valley. I'll be at the Sunday meetup and will either meet up with you peeps on the other days, or do actual tourist stuff and look at museums etc =D

I've also got a twin room. If anyone is looking for somewhere to stay and wants to split the room, let me know :D
