I knew a junkie that would save all his cottons up and then use them to prepare shots for curious teenagers. It certainly got them high and they would say it was a 'good kick'. What a fucking cunt. God only knows what diseases he was spreading and he couldn't care less.

I had a friend with hepatitis C from sharing syringes to inject heroin, and they're likely to be dead soon if not already. Alcoholism is also harming an already failing liver.
I never understood how people couldn't care about their bodies when it comes to IV drug use. There are some basic guidelines that people should follow...GRRR
I use BTH, and yes, even though it's terrible and horrible and blah blah blah, I save and reuse my cottons. I certainly don't get five shots out of it, but if I save four or more cottons up, it makes for a decent shot when you're sick. When I'm sick, my anxiety is so bad and I feel so terrible that I'd rather risk cotton fever (which has only happened once) and feel better than regretting not doing anything to help myself out.
As long as you're not sharing your cotton shots with others, do what you will to yourself.
However, I wish there was world where heroin was sold over the counter with known purities/quantities, and safe injection was not an issue.
It makes me frustrated knowing its not...and that the US is being drained of money like a pig is its blood.
yes i myself have resorted to cotton shots, I think we all have at one point or another.
Not me, nor did I ever really use cotton to filter.
I started to quit using heroin before I started to IV it, so I only had a handful of IV heroin experiences (though I got some truly fantastic rushes). But I never knowingly did risky/stupid things just to IV some dope.
