i found this article which shows that bacteria is unlikely to form from reusing syringes/needles in a Nigerian sample of 21 diabetics. i duno.

Keeping them in a sterile environment and practicing good hygiene will help keep needles sterile, but won't prevent them becoming tools of mutilation as shown in xxkcxx's post.

haha. Yes, i know. i should have added that that article had nothing to do with almost anything we have been discussing (i.e., hygienics of reusing cottons and what the monstrosity a needle becomes after use). However, i thought it was pertinent and useful. hehe sorry! :)

for the love of GOD get new points!!!!!!

i used to use and re-use syringes even though i had access to clean ones (paralyzed junky).... after nearly a year of IV-ing everyday, most of my veins are still useless or collapsed.

also used old cottons to get well, but i doubt there is ACTUALLY any high you'll get from old cottons. it was really just preparing everything that made me feel a bit better until i got more dope.

There should never be a time when you justify (highly) unsafe drug use practices "because (you're) an addict". People like you blow thru veins in a matter of months because they only have one (!!) needle to use. I find it hard to believe you can create an account here on BL and post this message, but cannot google a needle supplier in the New England / Philly area.
Seriously, what you're doing (shooting cottons with the same needle over and over) is so bad that I was actually scanning your msg for sarcasm in the hope it was an April Fools Day joke :\
Sorry to sound harsh, but it needs to be said. Go over to regional discussion now and get this shit sorted or stop IVing H... otherwise, give it a few months and your veins will be gone and you wont be IVing anymore anyway. A month of using a blunt needle, no, a week, would be worse than a YEAR of brand new rigs IMO. Not to mention the infection risks!

EDIT: I've just reread this post and it def comes across as harsh, but only b/c of the fact that its so easily fixed
 
i duno....... been using everyday, multiple times a day, for over a year and a half straight and never had a single problem. additionally, no one would ever even guess that i use. i barely even have marks from it. i rotate and heal fast? i duno? not saying it is the right thing to do. sorry.


sorry... it is not legal to buy/possess needles in my state. a pin goes for $10 around me. and i would pay that to get it, trust me. if i knew that all you had to do was ask a pharmacist in NY - i would have been doing that for a long time now.
 
i have never gotten cotton fever and religiously beat my cottons to shit after i've run out of funds...also keep my bags, rip them open, and scrape them out into my spoon and then beat the cottons in that - its always enough to keep me from getting sick, but not effective at all at getting high...but i keep my fingers crossed everytime...

if you visit nyc ever you should really take advantage of the lower east side harm reduction center....its the best place ever...the needle exchange feels like christmas! you don't even need to exchange anything and you can get as many pins as your heart desires! I also got suboxone there for FREE which was great considering my friends went to doctors and dropped like $2k on it....great place...def check it out...its in the lower east side on 25 allen st...

too bad the street smells like dead fish from all the chinese fish markets there....

can you just waltz into a cvs in NJ and do this w/o a script??? I'd much rather do this than go to the LESHRC in nyc even tho they're awesome...
 
i'm pretty sure PA, MA, and NJ have the strictest laws about selling points without a prescription.

but, CT and NY are different, i know you can get at up to a 10-pack without a 'scrip.

do it for your fuckin health. is it really that hard to take a drive one day out of your life so you don't mess up your body forever?

WTF does that mean? I can get them in a pharmacy if i have my id on me?? "May be waived"??? WTF... i dont want to embarrass myself at the cvs ya know...?

yeah, i know exactly what you mean. or have them then call the cops on you knowing you're holding - since you're asking for pins. lol or whatever the case may be.
 
yeah, i just started beating my cottons after i did a 3 bag shot. then about 2 days later, i had nothing and tried to get something from the cotton. the moment i added water to the cap and beat the cotton. the water turned color. it felt like i did a bag and a half. so from now on i'm going so save my cottons. i save my bags too sometimes.
as far as reusing the same rig. i would also suggest not doing it more then 3 times. i know sometimes u just can't get anything. but yeah, you should buy 10 packs when u come into nyc. go to a duane reade and cvs. they are like $2.67 for a 1cc 28g.

It means you can ask for them and the pharmacist, at his/her discretion, could sell them to you with proof of photo id (showing you are over 18) and often times a signature.

I've heard NJ is pretty strict though, so I'm guessing that while that might be the actual law, most pharmacists will not do it. Same way that codeine cough syrup COULD be sold over the counter in the US, but chances of finding a pharmacist who allows it in his pharmacy is slim.

No one is going to arrest you for trying to get syringes though. If you are that worried, just call ahead of time and ask over the phone. Say someone is in from out of town and you're not sure what the laws are.
 
Hi Elle, I registered today just to reply to your post.

Okay when i was 20 - 22 I got involved with shooting dope pretty heavily with a good friend. I was kind of naive but not stupid, but this was before the internet and I didn't know how to get needles. Did the gluing parts back on my rig and condom lube (hated explaining that to my then boyfriend)
So when i used I also used the same rig over and over and over. I mainly used my legs for the first year and a half or so, then finally switched to my arms because I had no veins left in my legs. I had no marks either.

Fast forward to today. I am now in my early 30's. I am fine with a good job and a bunch of kids and a great husband. I am healthy and reasonably attractive. My husband even thinks i am beautiful. But you know what? I get fucking ulcers on my ankles. Like a fucking geriatric obese person. Like a diabetic. The doctors can't figure out why, but i know. It's from beating on my legs forever with the same grungy fucking needles. It makes me so mad. i can't even show my ankles and at this rate i wonder if i am even going to have legs by the time i am 60. So think about that. Do you want decaying body parts because your blood can''t flow right anymore? I really wouldn't wish this on anyone. Sorry for the drama but I am serious. Ulcers are no joke, they are impossible to get rid of. So please please take care of yourself. Get some fresh points, that is way more important than the cotton issue. Okay, sorry for the length, I haven't told anyone about this so it's sort of therapeutic for me I guess. Anyway, best of luck.
