BL Poker Tournament: Weds 18 Feb 8pm - details in 1st post

I thought you made a silly move with that AK Infinite Jest. Didn't really understand why you re-raised and left a couple hundred back despite being commited and having little choice to stick it in on the flop.

Yeah, I was multi-tabling and not thinking 100%. I figured mugabe would put me all in preflop, but it was stupid not to do it myself.

Just wasn't my night last night. Every time I raised with a hand, you guys all folded. Every time I raised with half a hand, you either called or re-raised me. Almost as if you could see my cards! ;)

Just made final table in a $5 tourney. 173 started. I'm in second place. Awesome comeback by me, after being at the bottom of the leaderboard for most of the game (33rd out of 36, etc). If I go out now, I still win $20, but there are bigger rewards ahead :D

Finished third. But should have won. Had an awesome run of cards and couldn't make them pay off well enough :(. But it was 1am by the time I finished. Too tired.

3x is the standard raise for an un-raised pot The Kid, no point in chucking loads more in when 3x isn't getting a call when I had a hand anyway and was enough to force everyone to fold when I was bluffing.

So who's on for this week then folks? Wednesday at 8 again!

Let's try and get more than 6 this time. :)

I think you've just explained why you didn't win any money! :)

I don't think I did.

My point was that if my 3x BB raises aren't getting called when I have a hand then sticking 10x BB is even less likely. If I'm bluffing and I get caught out I don't want to lose anymore than I have to so 3x BB is enough.

Take it you'll be playing on Wed?

But maybe a flat call would work then? And why wouldn't a large raise work? Every hand is different, so your AA might be facing KK. Although 10x might not get you much action!!

Dunno about Weds yet, got a few things on.

I'm not a fan of slow playing, too easy to get outdrawn and not have a clue and because you started off with a hand you're not so keen to lay it down. Better to raise and get rid of the weaker hands so they don't outdraw you.

Hahaha, so just because you don't like something makes it the wrong strategy!! Sometimes it's better not to raise, and let the weaker hands get a little bit stronger, and a bit cockier.

But if you stick to one type of playing, you'll never win anything. It's all about variation.
