Phenethylamines Mescaline LD 50 dosage?

I asked and I was told the length of the trip does not matter in terms of cactus species versus alkaloid content

Speaking of alkaloids, the cactus isoquinoline alkaloids are numerous and mostly under-researchered (besides Pellotine which has 5-HT7 receptor activity). The non-mescaline phenethylamine alkaloids are interesting and it's possible that they inhibit/induce certain enzymes which facilitate mescaline activity (they may even participate directly). The research on this is lacking. The overlooked cactus polyphenols also play a part (eg quercetin).

Would i be correct in concluding a longer mescaline trip correlates to higher mescaline dosage? Wondering if this could be put in a mathematical formal, 500mg, 1 gram, 1.5 gram etc?

I think that any formula for this is going to be incomplete and thus misleading for reasons stated in my pervious posts. If someone is using an ALDH inhibitor (medication/supplement) or is taking an ALDH inducer then, according to my heterodox interpretation, your suggested formula would be substantially misleading.

I think another concern with high dosages, and I asked this on another huge forum last year it was about mescaline species though, correct me I am wrong, adding to Lom's comment and reply, the higher the mescaline dosage, it would seem the longer and lengthier the trip lasts? So it would be a lengthier mescaline trip then too higher mesc dose? I asked and I was told the length of the trip does not matter in terms of cactus species versus alkaloid content of different cacti per say? They told me it does not have to do with powder, alkaloids, resin, cacti varieties etc. Would i be correct in concluding a longer mescaline trip correlates to higher mescaline dosage? Wondering if this could be put in a mathematical formal, 500mg, 1 gram, 1.5 gram etc?
Ok from personal experience I do think that a larger dose will give a longer trip but it's not exactly proportional. By that I mean if I take a 1g dose and it last 12 hours, if I take a 4g dose it will not necessarily last 48 hours. It seems to only get extended so far. IME, it's pretty linear and consistent.

I'm also going to dispute the statement that alkaloid content of different cacti does not make a difference. I absolutely think the other alkaloids can make a huge difference on duration as well as quality of effects. Again this was just personal experience but I've had a cacti experience last a full 24 hours granted there were some redoses but even my massive synthetic mescaline trips were more in the 12-16 hour range. I suspect that it was due to both digestion/absorption happening over an extended period of time, but also the different alkaloid/synergy.

It is ok to speculate, it is not ok to construe as fact which goes against current understanding. Meh.(This is about Allylbenzene's idea that mescaline is a pro-drug instead of being the main active compound.)
man i wish you hadn't edited out most of this comment. thankfully tryptakid saved it in a quote.

Some of the edits were reverted because they were based on partially wrong memory, private in nature and thus taken back by me. I've talked this out with Allylbenzene in DMs where it belongs.

Didgital, in your experience for those salt extraction trips, the pure salt extractions, it seems those top out at 12-16 hours from reading your comment? I seem to interpret those massive doses that we are speculating you could have possibly took 3-5 grams( i know its speculations) , seems like it did not matter whether it was one gram pure mescaline salt extractions versus 4 grams salt extraction, the trip length seems to have topped at 12-16 hours, is that a correct assumption? Reason being, ahh il give the reason im asking if you want later, I am fascinated though, thanks man,

I've read 8,400 MILIgrams of mescaline is the LD50, however there seems to be no fatalities from mescaline ingestion.

It seems there haven't been any toxic reactions to mescaline that have been documented despite doses up to at least 8gs.

(Thanks for the correction)
My first thought... are there even any cases of LD50 in the wild?? Is that not just some rat LD50? I would imagine some people might be allergic to cactus material(?)

Well to be clear, I've actually only taken extracted salts once in my life lol. That was +20 years ago and my first time ever extracting anything from a plant. It was a "dirty sanchez" (full alkaloid extract). After days of work of extracting about 8 feet of some super dessicated pachanoi, I wound up with about 150mg of a tan powder. It was a mild trip, but it was also the first time I had taken a psychedelic that I had made so in that sense it is memorable.

Most of my mescaline experiences have been with synthetic at this point. Highest dose being 666mg, and yes it was more of a 14 hour experience. That "multi gram" trip, was also in the 14 hour area. As I said it was a mix of synthetic and peyote and peruvianus.

I did have an extended trip of 24 hours, but I was also drinking cactus tea continuously for about 12 hours. From sun down to sun up in ecuador.

When you say "synthetic" are you talking natural mescaline extracted by cactus by a "tech"? Some people and posters use the term interchangeably, so it gets confusing. I have seen them say " synthetic " mescaline as lab created mescaline not from the cactus i think, then i have also seen " synthetic " mescaline as the salt extracts etc, or alcohol, other tech extract from cactus? Tryin to get my terms and knowledge correct, not your fault ,mine, just trying to understand correctly.

Unless the person does not know what they are talking about (and Didgital does), synthetic should always refer to the lab-created compound. It is possible to make quite clean isolates of mescaline from cactus, and when fully purified, mescaline purified from a plant and purified from a chemical reaction are indistinguishable (at least in the material world).

Of course there is also the term "biosynthetic", but it is not typically used interchangeably with "synthetic".

@xdrc is correct. Synthetic (in my eyes) is always referring to something entirely lab made, starting from chemicals vs starting from plant biomass (extract). If I'm extracting it from a plant, nature made it so it's not synthetic.
