Kratom MA kratom ban in effect on 8/28, only just found out today, broke and only 150g left or so. I am F U C K E D

I was unaware this was happening. I saw this thread title and my mind went right to the late NBA player Brandon Clarke. He was charged with possessing kratom in Arkansas back in May, prior to his recent passing. When I read the story of the original arrest, the headlines just said "controlled substance". Come to find out it was kratom and I assumed it was just strict Arkansas laws.

There is a bit of confusion here but simply put, 7oh is being banned by the federal government nationwide. Kratom leaf is NOT being banned by the federal government but is banned by various states, including Massachusetts and California. Further complicating this picture, California banned the sale of leaf but not its possession.
Anyhow, it you want kratom leaf, you can still get it in some states but pretty soon you won't be able to legally buy 7oh anywhere in the US

Wdym take a peek? Oh, I couldn't see the link you showed because of the color I have the site. That's 7oh, not kratom, but kratom plain leaf is still being banned.
OK my bad if I passed along bad info.🙏 I really haven’t been following this until it popped on my feed this morning….
It seems that others have seen things similar about the Feds not banning leaf,,but I dunno,I guess time will tell….

Lowered to 2.3g today, figure I'll end up doing it like this. Took no extra Gabapentin last night and dropped some of the Valium down too. I definitely am feeling a lot better than I had been. Woke up with restless legs but still managed more sleep, it's like they just kind of went away mostly.

Guess my body just wasn't ready for lowering so rapidly from 2.5 to 2 flat. So much less fatigue and restless feeling today and I only just took my dose. It's been the worst year of my life, but if I truly successfully get off this shit it would be such a huge win for me.

I have heard of retailers suing over the ban because they think it's dumb to put an umbrella over all kratom products when the real issues is extracts, but I doubt much will happen. I do still get the feeling a lot of smoke shops will still sell it, though. Didn't stop anyone in the Midwest from selling THCA flower and that's banned in a lot of places, including Iowa where I'd also been.

There are lots of clever people out there who can turn water into wine (only one actually)
For those who might be worried, TEA is a wonderful substitute for kratom ,in fact sometimes I can't tell the difference

I don't know where you live in Massachusetts but kratom is legal in New York, Rhode Island, and New Hampshire

Not very close to either area, probably closer to N.H, but I still just want to quit it. Also, I don't know why or what it is, but I actually feel WORSE after that dose. Like, just this kind of gross feeling in my body, idk how to explain it. I also feel a bit restless, as if taking it triggered withdrawal somehow. I felt a lot better before taking it today, but I'm still surprised 2.3g is even affecting me much.

Wish my scale was accurate to the milligram or whatever instead of just going by 2.3. That could be 2.35, 2.38, 2.32, but it shouldn't really matter that much in the end. As long as I just keep it up like this, things should be fine. Perhaps this dose is teasing my neurotransmitters or something, therefore triggering a withdrawal like effect or something. Honestly, no clue. I usually only feel like shit from it if I got shit sleep, but I rested pretty well.

Just feel fatigue, brain fog, almost like light nausea. Just not feeling so good. I do have a pretty sore throat, but I blamed that on me not being used to smoking weed after not smoking for over 2 weeks and possible acid reflux from me eating quite a bit before bed, even if I took a Pepcid. Either way, if I did end up in N.H at some point, I don't get paid for almost a month and it isn't much more than $110 which I needed to preserve for other stuff.

Fuck the job economy in the US, it's such a mess. Had been hired by a bookstore, did all these forms, questions, etc. so many hoops and it took hours. Congrats, welcome to our team. Showed up to start and was told I wasn't needed due to a last-minute staffing change. No call, text or email in advance in a nearly hour commute. Well, I got the email a few hours after I was supposed to start, but there was no way I could've known unless I chose to not show up. Would've turned everything around for me this year, but no.

Damn, it's been some time but I'm pretty sure I'm getting sick, and the dose only made me feel worse as a result. Shit... my throat did start killing me too.

Everyone here needs who is struggling with the approaching Kratom ban needs to start thinking about alternatives before it is too late. People often jump on me a little bit when I recommend Buprenorphine to Mitragynine users, but I'm not aware of a better option. Frankly, I don't even believe it is a bad option. I think there is a stigma against MAT and people look at it as the "end of the line., you're life is fucked" option.

I have been around a while and seen shit move and shift around in the drug world. If you think you can't end up on Fentanyl/Dope from something like this, you really need to think again. If you find yourself sick, struggling to function and have no other options available, someone who is sick almost always will make the wrong decision and say it is a "one oflf".

At least get some Buprenorphine on hand however you have to do it. At the very least, it will buy you time in which you can decide what your next move will be. Even if it is not ideal, you can get a single strip of Bupe for the cost of a sandwich on Mass Ave. If you use it strategically, you can get several days of decent functionality even if you are using the stronger extracts.

If anybody needs help or advice in this regard, including how to induct properly on Buprenorphine following high-dose, potent agonist use, we are all available for help.
Well... it is "the end of the line, your life is fucked" if you have legitimate chronic pain because you will NOT be getting into most pain management clinics ever again. I know I can't.

Ive tried to be subtle regarding this issue
If I'm not mistaken kratom belongs to the same plant family as coffee
It also looks very similar to ground tea leafs depending on how it is processed
Is there custom checks when parcels are moved between different states in US
If kratom were labelled as anything other than kratom what checks are in place that would raise any flags ,is there quick and easy checks in place atm that would identify it as kratom
Better not say anymore

I don’t disagree, but given the increasing lack of privacy in my part of the world, documenting that someone needs buprenorphine to help withdraw from a drug habit could be a major liability, both personally and professionally. Best to keep these things, along with mental illness, off the books. Shouldn’t be that way, but sadly, it is. HIPAA, and protections like it, are far from secure when it comes to the government.

What other docs won't prescribe to u for addiction reasons?
They will, it's just that the first place I though to switch to for bupe wanted me to start all the way back over at the beginning, doing piss tests every 4 weeks. Plus they required that you come in for daily NA classes. I said FUCK THAT. Even my clinic OUT OF STATE didn't require me to do all that bullshit. I had to come in every 4 weeks in the beginning, but I did 9 years at this other clinic & I was at a point where I basically only got piss tested once a year & only had to see my sub doc every 12 weeks.

I figured I could be "grandfathered" in somewhere by showing I already spent 9 years with a sub doc, but apparently not.

So, no way in hell I'm going back to peeing every 4 weeks AND doing NA classes on top of it. Shit if I'm gonna have to get up & go in somewhere every day, it might as well be a methadone clinic. But going in everyday somewhere isn't a viable option for me.

Not even sure what's going on lately. I'm just constantly insanely dizzy and fatigued from withdrawals, but I don't even feel them until after I take the dose (seemingly). I started to wonder about that last night, got up today not all dizzy, took 1.9g, the lowest so far and have been dizzy since. It's like taking the dose activates the withdrawals or something, like my body has been used to higher doses for so long, idk.

I seriously thought tapering off this would be easier, but it's way harder than I imagined. This is pretty much identical to antidepressant withdrawals in a way, but generally much worse. I'm so disoriented constantly, it's just weird. It's kinda like having the brain zaps but without the zapping. I'm at least proud to be under 2g now, but I don't know when exactly I can jump ship. 1.5g? I seriously don't know. That's a dose I'd never really feel anything from even with no tolerance.

It's always worse. And some tapers will be even much worse than other substances. Oh ..... and then the ' kindling effect ' another unexpected experience will occur.

Something else that is unexpected and horrifying.

Perseverance is all we can ask for. 💟

Anyone else in this boat? Even if I finally reduced my dose to 3g, I've taken 3.5g the past like, 4 days and it's been rocking my shit. I still feel the dose I took 12 hours ago, so now I'm like fuck. I'll go right back to 3g tomorrow and guess I have to force taper down, hit 2.5, 2.4, 2.3, just gradual. If I do this, should I be able to come off without any withdrawals?

I'm so flustered and panicking. I've taken this daily for 9 years at various doses that used to be very high, like 15g a day (for me that's ridiculous) or this period of like, 25g, but that was a MAJOR bunk batch considering I got some other shit, took 4g and was fucked up. I never even felt that bunk shit.

I'm on vacation too, I don't even get back till the 25th and literally have no money, tf do I do??? I'm fine with the fully taper off idea, but kratom does have legit use in my life as like, an as needed pain med and I don't really use it for recreation anymore like I used to. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. I hate you, Healey, and I'm a leftist...

I just want some kind of comfort, some kind of "you'll be just fine" kind of comment, I don't even know. I plan to taper this down to literally a gram or half gram and then jump ship, but I have to do 3g for probably the next 2 days based on the increase lately, then I'll begin to get it down to 2.5 and below. THIS FUCKING SUCKS! I was in the process of tapering off my Gabapentin here, I didn't fucking know about this, when the fuck was this shit announced? Yesterday?

That's what it seems like to me. Now I have to increase the Gabapentin back some too??? I FINALLY got it back down to 1200mg and soon to be 900mg where it's extremely easy to taper in my experience, I've done it multiple times. I'd say this time it might be harder because 1600mg for a year is a lot but I used to just go crazy sometimes and take 3g for recreation. I don't really like how it feels anymore, so I never do that.
If you can get past the stigma & judgment, injecting a .1g of meth floods your brain with so much dopamine it completely cancels out opioids withdrawals. I got off heroin a decade ago when I fell in love with meth, but had to get off that too after I couldn’t stop. I got hooked on 7oh and mgm15 concentrated high% powders over the last year or two, and was able to get off with 2 weeks of semi-controlled IV meth use in the morning, and small tapering mgm15 doses to go to sleep at night. I couldn’t get through a day without a gram of >80% 7oh or mgm m15 powder for months leading up to this.

Its def not for everyone, but I kept things in check and didn’t lose my family or job, had a fucking blast, lost a little weight, and really had zero negative repercussions. I didn’t buy more of anything when it ran out and haven’t used any non-marijuana substances in 6 weeks.

yyeah I don't think meth is a good idea lol. Maybe uppers in general could help, but I've never done meth and don't plan to.

I've just been riding it out. I'm down to a measly 1.7g a day. I was experiencing pretty insane vertigo/dizziness. I still do at times; the episodes are just fewer. It's really odd, but if my body's been used to absorbing higher doses over nearly a decade, it doesn't seem too weird to me.

I've otherwise managed sleeping fine without extra Gabapentin or Valium if I take it closer to bed, but I don't know when I can drop the Flexeril (if it's even necessary) or the Trazodone. I only ever take a qtr tablet of that shit and I get the vibe that Trazzies/Flexeril together could also account for some of the random vertigo spells. This is technically like an SNRI/TCA being combined in a way.

All I know is, it feels like I'm almost there. Each time I drop 0.1, I take that dose for 2-3 days and drop another 0.1. I'd imagine once I'm at 1.5g, I can completely jump ship and manage any mild withdrawals with Nigella Sativa powder (BSO extract) and the meds I'm currently on, but I'm still probably going to titrate down to 1g and THEN jump ship.

1g has never given me any buzz, but I have felt up to 1.5. I even feel the 1.7 right now. It's distant, but I feel that slight warmth, the brain fog, etc. so damn, this is the lowest my tolerance has probably ever been. This is how 1.7g would've felt to me in like, July 2017 when I was new to it.

I may have hated this in the first place, but now I'm feeling like this could be one of the biggest turnarounds in my life in a long time.
