Interesting. How's the taper going?
Great! Thanks for asking
I used mainly 7-OH but also some occasional Kratom leaf on and off (mostly on) for like 2 months? maybe even three months? I started at 20-80mg 7-OH at night then by the end it was 120mg-240mg 7-OH at night. Started to find myself needing 20mg to get through the last couple of hours at work and that's when I decided to try the SR-17018. I did no taper with the 7-OH or Kratom before hand. Just dropped them on the first day of my weekend. 28mg of SR-17018 every 8-10 hours the first day, then dropping 2 or 3mg per dose every 1-2 days.
Today is one week since dropping the mitragynine products and beginning SR-17018. I woke up today feeling some restlessness in my legs, so I took 18mgshortly after waking and now I feel fine. My plan was to drop the SR-17018 today. We'll see how long until I feel the need for another dose.
SR-17018 is amazing stuff though. No real high although my first 2 or 3 doses I could "feel". Not high, but definitely off baseline. Psychoactive? Yes. Recreational? Not at all.
One more thing of note, when I'm in WD and take SR-17018, it can take a while to really ease most of the symptoms, which can lead to thinking that you undershot the dose and need more. I find it takes a few hours to reach full effect. Relief from some WD symptoms can be felt within 30 minutes or so on an empty stomach. However, very mild symptoms may persist for another 2 or 3 hours before easing the majority, if not all of the symptoms. I was able to go the whole week without hardly ever thinking about kratom or 7-OH. I was able to get through a very busy work week, no problem.
For people who are hopelessly addicted to fentanyl, heroin, high doses of pharmaceutical opioids, etc; I personally think that Buprenorphine is still the best first step for them. Buprenorphine covers symptoms and most importantly, cravings, much more so than SR-17018. Considering the possibility of SR-17018 reducing tolerance to opioids, I think that Suboxone/Buprenorphine is the safest bet for people at high risk of relapse.
SR-17018 I think is best for people who are building a habit that they don't like, or who are starting to enter physical addiction. It's great for people who started on buprenorphine and now want to be 100% opioid free. So far, SR-17018 is miraculous stuff and an insanely valuable tool. It very much has a place in recovery and should be utilized by medical professionals/psychiatry.
