Misc Best sleep med

Oh good it isnt just me!! I have been legit worried about my health I have been sleeping so much - I also have a clear schedule though so *shrugs*
Yeah it's the bupe I bet!
I've had other people tell me they think of bupe in the same way.

When I first started buprenorphine, it use to give me some of the strongest nods I've ever felt from an opioid (next to fentanyl). But they were never "enjoyable" nods like you'd get from heroin. I'd start nodding out while standing up even. Then it turned into not being able to sit down or ride passenger in a car without inexplicably falling asleep or my eyes continuously closing by themselves.

And over time those nods turned into needing to take naps multiple times a day, every day now. And it's been this way for nearly 10 years.
Now I never really get "nods" like that anymore, but I do feel like I get run of over by the sleepy-train from it still even after all this time. Usually after about 2 hrs after taking some, I'm ready to lay down & close my eyes.

What's funny is if I take bupe at night though, it usually keeps me awake longer than I anticipated for some reason.
But when I take it during the day (when I'd like to feel awake), it does the opposite & makes me so damn tired.

I've become a master at "resting my eyes" because of it. Where instead of napping or sleeping, I'll just lay down for 20 mins to an hour with my eyes closed & then force myself to get back up before I can fall asleep all the way. Some times it doesn't work out that way though & I catch myself waking up several hours later anyway.

I believe I've read that some of buprenorphines metabolites (not norbuprenorphine though) are "sedatives". So it would explain why it seems like bupe makes me so much more tired than regular opioids.

Sometimes that is relatively rare to get prescribed these days I guess, would be phenobarbital. 200mg knocks me out and gives me a light opiate feeling before i drift into sleep.

Of course I do but you got trazadone, z-drugs, benzo's -- why would you ever start there"
checkmate
I know some one whose had a script for this for years & years.
Now you know two patients. I want to move up to 3mg>6mg... Technically in the US a doctor can but it violates FDA labeling of more than 3mg b/c of next day impairment. As a patient myself, would not have that side effect after 5qty Easters. It is labeled for short-term (3 months). It still works good. My diagnosed insomnia has increased to losing 3-4 hours per night.

I spose im married to benzos at this point and alright with that
The Ativan switch to Valium worked very well for me the past 45 days. Valium 15mg is good for now. The long half-life difference is projecting a request to 30mg at Thanksgiving. That is if WW3 doesn't ruin everything. I am thick as thieves with my pharmacy owner, pharmacists, and head ordering/wasting tech. I am ranked in the top 5 for "high priority contact" at the first sign of ordering & supply disruptions due to current world events unfolding. I have two expensive large pizzas delivered monthly for lunch for the pharmacy and twice a month bring coffee correctly suited for each staff member. Also during my short wait times, I walk the store and straighten out items on the shelves to uniform & neatly presented. Not my first rodeo.

Sometimes that is relatively rare to get prescribed these days I guess, would be phenobarbital. 200mg knocks me out and gives me a light opiate feeling before i drift into sleep.
I am down for that train ride. I am very fond Phenobarbital. I would have to drop a few prescriptions to maintain more score. The change would not out weight the benefits of my polypharmacy schedule.

Anti psychotics should be banned
They shouldn't be "banned", they just shouldn't be handed out like candy to everyone who isn't psychotic.

The amount of doctors who've tried to put me on AP's for depression is insane. Yeah that's exactly what I wanna do is lower & block my dopamine when I'm already deficient in it to begin with.

I've dated some one with untreated schizophrenia for years. Once they got on olanzepine, it was like night & day. Totally normal person. No delusions, no more pointless fighting & arguing, no more talking to "shadow people".

So I think antipsychotics are great tools for those who TRULY need them.

^Sounds exactly right -- my symptoms match this well. -- including the odd taking it at night thing.
I guess it's nice to hear I'm not the only one! Sucks to hear that that's how it is for you too. But I can totally relate.

I've been wondering for years what makes buprenorphine more "enjoyable" and "wakeful-inducing" at night time, but not the day time.
Only thing I can think of is that our brains release different neurochemicals at night versus the day, so maybe that different neuro-chemical make up synergizes with the bupe, which ends up keeping me up all night until I have to knock myself out with benzos.

I just wish buprenorphine offered more heroin-like euphoria, then maybe the side effects would be worth it.

I'm honestly getting sick of buprenorphine treatment. I want to stay on opioids, but A) I'm tired of bupe. It's horrible for pain & the sedation is just too long lasting, And B) the constant piss tests & being treated like a criminal-liar by my doctor even after 10 years of being there, is starting to feel more like I'm on a "criminal probation" of sorts. I had to do a piss test earlier this week. But this constant anxiety & fear of "getting in trouble" or pissing my doctor off is just getting to be too much & not even worth it anymore. All for a schedule III med that has barely any euphoria & gives me headaches.

I've only failed ONE piss test for opiates in the past 10 years with them, yet my doc still treats me as if I can't be trusted to be prescribed regular generic mono buprenorphine, with none of the artificial flavors or naloxone.

This showed me that no matter how long I play by their rules & do everything right, I'll never be "trusted" anyway. So it makes me think maybe there's no point in "following the rules" anymore if I'm just gonna be treated like I'm not anyway (if that makes sense).

FUCK PISS TESTS too btw! Not only are they invasive, but they're incredibly inaccurate. My piss tests (even the hardcore lab ones) just stopped detecting my benzo that I take altogether. I can literally take it & then piss a few hours later & it still won't show up. Which obviously makes my doctors suspicious. But that's not my fault. That also tells me there's probably been tons & tons of people who have either had their medicine taken away because it won't show up on their piss tests or even worse, people who have to take piss tests for probation or whatever, could end up in jail thanks to false negatives & positives. It's a bunch of bullshit. The war on drugs is so fanatical in it's devotion. It's a war on human minds & bodies.

I'm just fed up with it all. I wish I owned land, so I could just harvest my own poppies or something, cause this is all bullshit.

Drugs never ruined my life. America's psychotic & fanatical "war" on them (and the people who use them) did.

^ Same on alot of things

the bupe treatment - my doctor legit doesnt care though it is just an extra 50 bucks if you fail. Once they said I failed for morphine and I know damn well that wasnt possible but what can ya do as a self admitted opi user....

Yes that makes sense to me. The taste does suck and if they treat ya like a rulebreaker anyways....

unoficially I suggest cutting down and building a stash so when you feel like walking away from your doc you at least have the option

This took 35 mins to compose. I wanted to doing something nice for someone this morning. Enjoy.

Drugs have used since the beginning of time by humans and animals.

All due to the "Ant People" from underground unknown start of Earth or inner Earth. The Ant People saved the Hopi Indians lived in Arizona (unknown time old than 13,000 years) the 1st world reset (volcano/astroid) severe mass extinction event in Earth's history, which wiped out approximately 80% to 96% of all species (killing everything except a small percentage of life), is known as the Permian–Triassic extinction event. They survived the 2nd world reset (Ice Age/Pole Shift) happened 12,000-13,000 years ago and 3rd world reset (Noah's Great Flood) 2348–2349 BC
All due to the "Ant People."

Datura/Sacred Datura: Some sources suggest that members of certain Pueblo tribes (including the Hopi) have historically used roots from plants like Datura to induce visions for spiritual insights or diagnosis, but this is a serious, specialized spiritual application rather than a recreational one.

The ancient Egyptians used the Blue Lotus (scientifically known as Nymphaea caerulea), also known as the Blue Water Lily or Sacred Blue Lily of the Nile, to induce euphoria, relaxation, and for spiritual, psychoactive experiences

Black lemurs in Madagascar intentionally bite and lick toxic millipedes, inducing them to secrete chemicals like cyanide and benzoquinone. They rub this mixture into their fur as a potent insecticide to repel malaria-carrying mosquitoes and treat parasites, while simultaneously experiencing a narcotic "high" that causes salivation and a trancelike, euphoric state.

I no longer suffer from chronic insomnia, so now I sleep med-free, but the best ones I've had:

Flunitrazepam - hits you fast and hard. If you don't immediately fall asleep, it can be euphoric (to the extent that benzos can).

Nitrazepam - like flunitrazepam, but not quite as strong and peaks much slower.

Lormetazepam - onset, duration, effects are perfect for a sleeping med. A little recreational.

Temazepam - decent sleeping pill. Quick onset, suitable duration. Don't understand all the hype though, for me it's a regular benzo.

Midazolam - ditto, but for me, more inebriating, amnesic, and unsuitable for nightly awakenings. Intranasal or IV are a different beast, somewhat recreational.

Triazolam - like Midazolam.

Levomepromazine - old school antipsychotic but it will knock you the fuck out.

Tizanidine - taken IV, puts me to sleep almost immediately

Zolpidem - more effective than zopiclone and doesn't leave a taste in your mouth the next day like you deep throated an exhaust pipe

I used to take 4-6 zopiclone every day. The withdrawal was awful (I threw up my methadone 2 days in a row), so I took a handful of valium and just let it wear off. No withdrawal at all via that route provided you can stop taking the valium of course.
Like 4-6 zopiclone a day, meaning during the day as well as night? eszopiclone I find to be more drowsy feeling. Zopiclone felt a little more abusable as it wasn't as drowsying. What was the withdrawal like?

Zopiclone or eszopiclone
Tizanidine for falling asleep
Mirtazapine 15mg and Promethazine 50mg for...falling into sleep and waking up not knowing when u fell asleep.
For normal person any benzo ( maybe except oxazepam ) in decent dose will work.
Pregabalin for sleep quality.

Someone gave me trazadone and it stopped up my sinuses ~ I would have to be a mouth breather to take Trazadone ~ my evil health care provider likes to give me evil stuff like that ~ they are malevolent to the core ~ everything they give me ~ I have to tell them I'm not taking that ~

they keep trying to get me to take zombie meds during the daytime and I keep telling them I would rather take Desoxyn during the day ~ I refuse to take sleep meds during the daytime

they refuse to give me anything good for the daytime  ~~ I couldn't believe they actually let me get Seroquel ~ they just want me to zombie all day on it though ~ but I refuse
I could get anything except something to be awake during the day. Benzos, promethazine, tizanidine, quetiapine, mirtazapine anything sedating even on top of my pain meds but I have to deal with sedation lasting even during the day by my self because everything from modafinil to lisdex is absolute drug seeking and superharmful ( other meds no problem ). Stims ? Only from friends.

not saying this because I'm a regular dph user but diphenhydramine will knock ur ass out with 50 mg
I'm currently tapering myself off dph so I'm taking 75 In the morning

On the other end of the spectrum absolutely

fun fact -- that expensive ass lean that rappers drink is just some codeine and promethazine (an anti histamine quite common to diphenhydramine).

Two OTC drugs in alot of countries --- prometh needs a script in most I guess but its just an antihistamine, double up the benadryl and be cool lol

All the time .. actually 4-6 is probably an underestimate. I'm beyond tolerant to benzos (thank you H / RC opiate dealers for loading them up with benzos).

The WD wasn't bad by my standards, but my standards aren't normal. It was no sleep for days and really bad inner ear effects that mean't i couldn't concentrate and constantly wanted to hurl. In the end I sacked it off and took valium which has a nice long half life (zopi has a very short half life) and had no withdrawal.

As I said .. I'm used to withdrawal and zopis are the only benzo I've ever noticed a withdrawal on. Do what they do in a medical setting .. transition to one with a long half life and let it run. A single large (for you) dose of diazepam (valium) is probably enough though you may need another smaller dose later and that should get you through in the 2 odd weeks it takes the valis to wear off. By that point the zopis will be well out of your system and hopefuly a small one or two dosage of valium will have no withdrawal.

If your on 1 ro 2 zopis maybe try 2 or 3 valium (if that sounds like a lot split it over a couple of days).
