Will i see a decent government before i die?

Know doubt when the time comes for the switch over from fossil to ev the government will offer incentives, I always tend to think they benefit those with the financial means .
Air source heat pumps being an example, sure you could get a grant for the pump but if your home isn't insulated to death there a waste of time ,so that rules me out
Fusion power is on the way. Soon we won't need to worry about energy.

Fusion is equivalent of going from candle light to floodlights in terms of technology jump

Wasn't that the deal with nuclear? It didn't go well. There'd be conflict for resources, like usual.
Not quite.. nuclear fission in the early years was more risky ( hence Chernobyl) and we always have the problem of disposing of nuclear waste. We also needed uranium for fuel.

Fusion doesn't have any of these problems. It's clean, safe, and unlimited. Also quite powerful too i.e. much stronger than a wind farm.

I think these stories and angles seeking to undermine the Green party's candidate's 'working class credentials', have come either from the Labour Party or Reform.

If that's the worst they could unearth about her, that she may not be as 'working class', or 'from the people', as initial impressions might have suggested, then I'll take that, and as politicians go, that really is not so bad at all.

I must admit when I heard her speak, I wasn't convinced about her background. But a Green victory never the less, would definitely be the best option. Keeps the loony far right out, and would give Starmer plenty of cause for concern.

Hopefully it would mark the beginning of the end for the slimy, extremist, authoritarian, and control freak, piece of work, that he truly is.

Definitely. The “million pound property portfolio” is simply her own home and the home she owned jointly with her ex. So just one property. At normal market value.

The holidays? Perfectly normal to go on holiday now and then, no?

And the diesel car she was pictured with wasn’t even hers.

Complete non-story.

Why is it not illegal?

Because seeking asylum is completely legal.

The only situation where it would be illegal is if the individual didn’t present themselves to authorities and claim asylum. That would be foolish as it would mean no housing, no money, no chance of becoming a citizen.

I’m not saying that never happens, but it’s pretty rare. The vast majority of people present themselves to authorities and go live in those infamous “migrant hotels”.

Then there asylum claim slowly works its way through the system and a decision is made as to whether their claim is legit or not. If so they officially become refugees with leave to stay indefinitely. If not they are deported.

No wonder people are voting reform

Not for me. I've tried to leave my country and enter 5 different countries. All of them told me to fuck off.
I suspect shambles is quoting some loophole somewhere. We all know it must be practically illegal to just pitch up on the shore of a country unless there's a war or natural disaster happening.

Visa required to go to other countries if you go through a port.

Asylum seekers are obviously not required to have passports or visas. Nor do they need to arrive via generally agreed upon ports. Irregular arrival - often without documentation - is basically expected for asylum seekers.

I honestly don’t know how to make it any simpler. Read the article I posted above - it explains in detail why people arriving via small boats are simply not illegal immigrants.

No loopholes required - it’s long-established international law that we are signed up to and legally obligated to follow.

Reform are not very feasibly going to change that. It’s all just hot air to whip up the voters into self- righteous fury chasing ghosts.

That's why they all throw their passports into the sea. And it doesn't seem to matter they are coming from a safe eu country
