well yeah october 7th was disgusting operation that caused innocent people terrible suffering. Lots of arbitrary violence. This was the most recent quote from me, which hasn't been addressed:
He's attempting to use atrocities from nearly eighty years ago to justify / excuse the massacre of over a thousand civilians in one day.
The following is not what I believe but what Judaism does:It all stems from religion. That's pretty much what established the makeup of the Levant. The Hebrews went one way and established Judaism, other tribes went down other routes. Then some Jews started a new cult (Christianity), and a few hundred years down the line, an Arab makes up his own.
Wait a fucking minute...we have manufactured three pages of off-topic?
Maybe people should continue in CEPS about this matter? And if moderator decisions do not please you, I remind that I am not going to discuss about them in here because it disrupts the thread, it has real purpose aside of it.
The early followers of Jesus (if you believe he actually existed) had to be Jews. There was no separation. It was one of many different schools like the Essenes. Jews were a disparate bunch at the time. Count the number of messiah claimants - it's pretty wild. The following is not what I believe but what Judaism does:
There is no differentiation for Israel, the state directly gets its power from the belief.
Ishmael (the brother that did not receive the inheritance) formed another family that lived in the desert; It was this tribe that helped Moses when he escaped from Egypt. Moses married one of the family so the family of Ishmael was amongst the Hebrews that left Egypt but she never reached Israel because she stayed with Moses before they crossed the river Jordan to inherit Israel the land.
Christianity was not a cult of the Hebrews, the Hebrews rejected Christ and Crucified him. Christians were mostly Gentiles.
Yes, the Apostles were Hebrews as were many of the early followers, but the fact is that most of the Hebrews in fact rejected that he was the Messiah. The Temple Priests and scribes as well as Herod openly rejected Christ, so much they actually caused the crucifixion. The Romans had no interest in Killing Christ it was the Temple Rulers and all the faithful followers of the Temple who screamed that Christ be crucified when Pilate tried to release Him. Christianity was was not a Hebrew Cult, it was the fulfillment of the prophesy that the Priests rejected. The early followers of Jesus (if you believe he actually existed) had to be Jews. Paul (a Jew) decided to include the gentiles decades after the crucifixion (supposedly) took place. It was the cause of an argument with Peter, who believed followers of Jesus (there was no 'Christianity' as yet) should continue to follow Jewish law.
The Jewish people in that era were not like the present Jews. Rabbinic Judaism didn't exist. It was numerous disparate factions, some violent toward each other.Yes, the Apostles were Hebrews as were many of the early followers, but the fact is that most of the Hebrews in fact rejected that he was the Messiah. Their reward was having their rebellion squashed by the Romans and the destruction of the Temple 40 years after Christ's death.
I'm quite aware of that. The Jewish people in that era were not like the present Jews. Rabbinic Judaism didn't exist.
The factions didn't begin until the Romans put down the revolution by the Hebrews in 79 AD Which was also when the temple was destroyed and the Romans named the land PalestineIt was numerous disparate factions, some violent toward each other.\
