Christianity working out for anyone else?

We have an obligation to spread the gospel.
Well, I'm assuming you mean "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you" (Matthew 28:19)
Thing is, a disciple is a follower, particularly of Jesus. It doesn't say to force anything on anyone.
There is an almost universal distaste for people getting in your face preaching. To me bearing witness means saying you are a Christian if it comes up. If you bring it up yourself, especially more than once. You're really doing more harm than good.

jesus opposed discrimination and oppression. he taught about love and the importance of caring for others. he taught kindness and respect. he cared for the poor and put others ahead of himself.

tl;dr your man jc was woke.

It’s absolutely stunning how anti Jesus modern American Christian’s are.

If Jesus showed up saying the shit he said in the Bible - directing it at trump too; who is exactly the type of person he preached against - christians would kill him - again

I was in Christian school most of my life and was Christian up until 19. I’ve read the Bible cover to cover twice and studied it in Bible class for 11 years. It was my education in the physical sciences in college that shattered my religion. Once I realized how life
Originated and that what I had been taught my whole life was untrue; I decided I couldn’t beleieve anything about the religion.

Much later on it took seeing the hypocrisy among my Christian family to really cement not just walking away from the religion - but outright despising it. The racism; the hatred for the poor was drilled into me by my Christian’s family.

For sure attraction not promotion. I always like that term with things like AA/NA. No forcing, just attracted.

Yes Christianity works for me. I like treating people kindly but with caution. It makes me feel good. So how can that not be a win/win?

To me even if a person never heard of JC, as long as they follow the Golden Rule then that is the same path. I do find it off putting when people shove Jesus in our face yet they themselves do not act Christian. They turn it into a popularity contest.

He is talking to his deciples. Not even a good try, this is after Christ has risen.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
He is talking to his 11 disciples( they hadn't replaced Judas Iscariot( mis? to tired to look up spelling.) He is talking
To 11 men who have been dead almost 2,000 years. You are just grasping at straws. Taking words said to 11 men in early 1 A.D.. But they were given power and authority to grow the church( the church, contrary to catholic bs; is composed of believers. And Jesus Christ is that rock). Also Paul was a teacher of the Gentiles, he was a Jew who was actually a Roman Citizen.(rare back then)

Peter was a teacher of the Jews and may never even been to Rome.

Wow you geniuses never fail to make me laugh. Try reading the whole New Testament and then The Old Testament before you try picking verses and taking them out of context. Use a good study Bible, Try the one by John MacArtur.

Judge not. But I am glad we are making you laugh. We will wait for your genius comments.

You would have to give a statement that was taken out of context in this thread. I am not seeing any off hand.

JN you are a crusty mother f*cker. (still glad you post though.) However If you are going to pick on an idea get it right first. Your Last post totally took out of context what BP wrote up. But I don't care about who ate what on any day or romans did this or that. I care about the wisdom behind the statements. Now we can get specific. But I go for the wisdom behind the statements, not which Roman fucked his best friends wife

Oh and Judas and Jesus had a pact. We would not have that history if Judas did not turn in Jesus. And Jesus knew that was coming. And he forgave him.

Judge not lest ye be judged. Is almost always taken out of context. It is about hypocrisy. Only, the Biblically illiterate use that one. As don't attack someone for something you do that is sinful. Is what it referencing. 🤣🤣

Oh. OK. Then what verses in the bible are you referring to when you say
We have an obligation to spread the gospel.
I was just trying to speak to that. Quote them up and we'll discuss. That is all I was trying to do.

Noah was a 700 year old man that put two of every species of animal on earth. At minimum 2 million species. So 4 million animals minimum. Larger than the population of LA. This 700 year old man built a cruise ship alone so god could murder ppl for having sex.

After; fie the first time ever; the molecular properties of water and physics of light refraction magically changed to create the first rainbows where before the flood water didn’t refract light into rainbows.

This is what they believe.

You know nothing, the earth was infested with nephilim. The offspring of angels who had who left there place( their job, and position). These beings were evil and giants. All the people of that time were evil and all they about was evil all the time. thought about was evil all the time.
Also Nosh was around 500 and had just turned 600 when it was done.

The reason I laughed at that one was, it was for the disciples. They were chosen before the crucifixion and after Jesus rose from the dead and sent them out and after they were preaching then they were apostles.
They were given powers, by the Holy Spirit, for sign and wonders and healing,
Casting out demons and such. As proof they were sent by God. Then they spread the word.

I have been using a stylus to type on my phone and I did alot of typing this way yesterday and today. So please loke up
Psalm 105:1 1 Peter 3:15
Psalm 119.6. 2 Corinthians 5:20
Psalm 96:3. Philippians 1:18
Romans 10:14. 1Corithians 9:16
Romans 1:16. 2 Timothy 4:2
THESE 10, I found and basically discuss
A Christian obligation to share the gospel.

That's an awfully big boat! Which would explain the 700 years he was likely drawing a pension from the state of California
My 92 year old uncle lived like a saint; but he, although a member of the unitarian church and a doer of many good works, a firm atheist.
Will he be excluded from the afterlife, as written per God and Jesus's good will?
I believe heaven exists alright; but directly only over the United States. The rest of the world all get their own heaven according to their beliefs
What's good for the goose is good for the gander; now its time to raise your dander
Could you Imagine if Jesus came again and dropped in over Gaza.

peter 3:15: "But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:"

which part of telling people they know nothing and mocking them for being stupid is the meek part?

i'll not hold my breath.

also, following answers not accepted:
  • you're interpreting it too literally!

  • you're not interpreting it literally enough!
:)

I don't think that's a very good translation.

But sanctify the Christ as lord in your hearts always ready to make a defense before everyone who demands of you a reason for the hope you have. But doing so with a mild temper and deep respect.
