Iirc, it was eventually fairly conclusively determined in the published lit that T2 did not have significant MAOi activity in the usual dosage range. I wouldn't go pushing my luck with combos, but that's just because I'm on the more conservative side of the spectrum of people eating weird chemicals bought from strangers.
Indeed, all the evidence I've seen is that neither 2C-T-2, 2C-T-4, or 2C-T-7 have any significant MAOI activity. I have no idea one way or another about the Alephs though.
T2 definitely had more body load for me, but the effects were quite different. T7 had a lot of the qualities of a serotonin releaser, and my brain doesn't like serotonin releasers (MDMA, 5-MAPB, 6-APDB) and their associates (aMT.) They just make me feel simulataneously dumb and sad.
I think almost all psychedelics are serotonin releasers, or at least serotonin release
enhancers via their action at the 5-HT2B receptor. Recent research suggests that 5-HT2B action by MDMA is essential for the major serotonin release to occur. It's possible that MDMA works simultaneously via 5-HT2B and via the serotonin reuptake transporter (SRT), and this combination of activity leads to more serotonin release than action at 5-HT2B alone. I don't know. Certainly MDMA et.al. seem to be more prone to causing serotonin exhaustion as an after-effect; whereas, I've never seen this reported for any psychedelics alone.
In any case, most psychedelics have significant affinity at 5-HT2B. The affinity appears particularly strong for most 2C-X and 2C-T-X and also for psilocin. Of course affinity isn't the same as action, and the particular actions and degree of those actions at 5-HT2B may be critical. The details here are not really clear.
FWIW, I've had MDMA about a dozen times and MDA and methylone once each. Excepting maybe two or three of the MDMA experiences in which it actually seemed to work, I found these drugs to not be worthwhile. OTOH, once on each of these after some hours of a disappointing experience, I've added a psychedelic like 2C-I or mushrooms, and the experience turned very euphoric as soon as the psychedelic started kicking in.
Right so that's the 4-isopropylthio analog if memory serves. Yeah that's pretty rare. Nice one.
Correct. I got it in 2003 and then never saw it again. I have no idea if it was any safer than 2C-T-7. I treated it with great caution in case it wasn't and because of the high variation in individual dose responses that was reported . I wish we had some idea of what made 2C-T-7 so toxic. One possibility is that it has a very strong serotonin-like action at 5-HT2A in addition to whatever LSD-like action it has. Some data I've seen suggests that 2C-T-2 < 2C-T-7 < 2C-T-4 all have higher efficacy (relative to serotonin) at 5-HT2A receptors compared to pretty much any other of the semi-common psychedelics, and this might lead to a variety of problems if the dose is too high for a particular individual. If so, it's at least possible that 2C-T-4 is even more dangerous than 2C-T-7, but it's hard to know at this point.
Rarest Shulgin compound I've had (knowingly) would be DMMDA-2 from Indian Dill Seed Oil I manufactured myself back in 2001.
Wow! What an experience. In one of my O Chem labs, we synthesized safrole which smells absolutely heavenly, like a candy shop.
2C-T-4 is phenomenal, probably the strangest 2C compound that I've had.

In short, it is extremely euphoric similar to that warmth that 2C-T-7 offers but more mindfucky and longer-lasting. Next to 2C-E this is the 2C with the most power behind it and it has a huge potential to induce glowing experiences. It's the most slept-on 2C out there IMO, but then again it's just not as user-friendly with its 14 hour duration and intense bodyload/visuals/headspace.
Now I'm jealous too because I never got to a full (+++) with it. I never noticed any mind-fuckiness nor did I get much bodyload. Being that 2C-E and 2C-T-2 are my favorite 2C-X, I'd probably enjoy a (+++) on it very much if I ever found it again.
