I have an old family friend who lives in the hills who finds/makes/sources/extracts all kinds of plant medicines, mainly cannabis-based but others too. he's a fucking genius and also a healer who makes zero profit from his endeavours and actually often gives his 'herbals' to poor pensioners etc for free.

He does produce some of his own opium which I have tried, but it's too rough for me physically for some reason. The stuff I get from him (he doesn't have it regularly, maybe twice a year) he has told me it's called "Shireh". I have no idea where it's from and would not dream to ask. Apparently it's refined in some way and of high quality,

It's very dark and extremely sticky. You have to freeze it before breaking a bit off, weighing and eating. Even with cold hands after holding bag of frozen peas for a few minutes I'd say you have under a minute to get that process complete before the opium becomes so sticky it's impossible to work with and it you get it on your fingers it's kinda ruined

I've got some pain issues and tend to use it, on average, once every 3 weeks or so. I find 200mg-ish will give me 12-14 hours total pain relief alongside a smooth extremely nice high

Ah well, I can only tell you what I've been told.

Having said that, the person I get it from is the most knowledgeable person ) plant-drug wise anyway) who I have ever met - and trust me I've met a lot

I'm relatively inexperienced with opium though. I've probably had 10 different 'batches' over the decades prior to getting it from this person though, and this stuff is just on a completely different level to the others.

Am interested now though so I'll ask him next time I see him, probably around New Year

EDIT this stuff dissolves completely in hot water, if that makes any difference. And - it's pretty lush in effect

Refined opium, at least refined in a traditional way, as in water washed in essence, I encountered was soft and dark.
While raw but cured opium I had was brittle and light.
Never had fresh raw unrefined opium.

I also had a chance to sample cured raw opium that's a lot stronger than most refined stuff. Gotta like bitter earthy with a hint of sweet taste it has and absolutely delicious smoke. Tho I ate it more than I smoked it.

Yeah, my man told me this stuff has been water washed, so there's that too @Hexenstahl

I'm not very knowledgeable about opium tbh. But this stuff is so much better than the brittler/lighter stuff I've had on/off over the years. Totally different level
 
Ok that's interesting. I once bought some spanish opium which had a light brown, almost beige color. Quality was pretty good...
 
40mg 80% CBD distillate
250mg mitragynine extract
200ml coffee
600mg NAC

In a little while a few hits off a d9 cart and maybe a nibble of an edible or some water soluble d8

I bought 5g of that iberian opium, cooked 2.5g of it and turned it into smokeable opium and the other half I consumed as a tea. The per tea dose was 0.15g and the dose that I used per smoking session was 0.1g. I liked the cerebral high from smoking a lot more. Oral opium is excellent as a painkiller though, but too sedating for me and not euphoric enough. Smoked opium on the other hand has that dreamy effect that I like so much. Those 5g lasted me a while but I never had the opportunity to get another batch of it...
 
I have work Monday so only black tea, "1 pound" of bacon (cooks down to a teenth), a Corona or two with lime, then Guava Ice 50/50 hybrid strain. Bacon is definitely a drug. Full of baconamine and 5-OH-dimethoxybaconamine.

3am here on the east coast. Just doing my typical morning thing.
Big ol’ glass of water, a couple of cowboy killers for breakfast, and about to smoke on some sour tangie then take a shower. Gotta roll outta here at 445 to go make them donuts for the day.
