So what exactly is the problem? Do you still have dental problems the meds are treating and if so what are they? Maybe try another doctor to help you taper.Hi I have been on clonazapam and pregablin for ,6years for dental probs my gp won't help me taper I'm struggling I want off these dirty drugs they don't work and I feel ill.thanx
I had a root canal done 10,yrsago and been in chronic facial pain since....I've been on alsorts of pain relief morfine tramadol Botox(I live in the UK so luckily the Botox was done free by maxfacial surgeon)had a bad reaction to that....got a new dentist and everything went down hill fast he suggested extracting my upper teeth and a denture would fix it. I asked the consultant (who had treated me for 8yrs)at the dental hsp he just went along with it said tried everything else!!!! It's made things worse......I had tmj through grinding my teeth.....can't believe we're I am now....addicted to clonazapam.pregablin but nothing works feel as though my life is not going to get any better.thanyou for askingSo what exactly is the problem? Thank you for your reply. Sorry you are going through this. I don't have a good answer for your but I will say that nerve pain CAN improve with time and when the irritant or whatever's causing it is removed. Don't give up! Maybe try a new different doctor and try something like hypnotherapy or something more natural for the pain? I am not saying meds are bad but if you want to try something different.I had a root canal done 10,yrsago and been in chronic facial pain since....I've been on alsorts of pain relief morfine tramadol Botox(I live in the UK so luckily the Botox was done free by maxfacial surgeon)had a bad reaction to that....got a new dentist and everything went down hill fast he suggested extracting my upper teeth and a denture would fix it. Thankyou for your reply I just want to come off all these addictive drugs I'm on...wouldn't be too bad but then had a bad fall of one bottom stair..had numerous injuries a broken shoulder and ankle as well 3months in hsp and a year recovery now this facial/dental stuff is holding me back. Certainly having some bad karma come my wayThank you for your reply. Sorry you are going through this. Otherwise I hope someone else on the forum who reads this has some hope for you. But please don't give up and have faith that things can improve. New medications/treatments are always coming out. But I feel for you and hope things improve soon.
Sounds like you are going through a tough time and need the medication to help with pain. I wouldn't be so hard on yourself if that is the case. You can always wean off and find a doctor to help you do that when the time is right. It is common to be dependent on any medication you are prescribed and a good doctor should work with you to wean off if you want to. There are also pain clinics who work with people just like you who have chronic pain and help you deal with it and the medication, etc. Most hospitals have a pain clinic that you should be able to attend. I would not see it as karma at all - no one deserves to be in pain.Thankyou for your reply I just want to come off all these addictive drugs I'm on...wouldn't be too bad but then had a bad fall of one bottom stair..had numerous injuries a broken shoulder and ankle as well 3months in hsp and a year recovery now this facial/dental stuff is holding me back.
