Venting Incels

Should I report all the posts here that are rude and disrespectful and downright discriminatory?
I am personally highly offended by some of the language used in this thread.
Rather than facts or statistics, I don't see much here beyond baseless slander and attacks without understand. Twitter level drivel discourse.

As opposed to these highly intellectual politically correct, non-offensive threads you mean? Go ahead.

But that's the thing - it's not clear when shortened (which it always is) and it's a complete oxymoron.

I'll find the ringleaders of this and tell them I have no problem with their looks but they're like a conference of Village Idiots.

I'm skeptical as to whether anyone has any real problems understanding the term, shortened or not.

"Incel"? I got that confused with Infidel! How would anyone infer Involuntarily Celibate from that?

Can you point me to one example where a person had trouble understanding it for real?

There's plenty to talk about regarding incels, but this minor hypothetical linguistic confusion isn't one of those things.

I find it very strange that some men EXPECT and BLAME women for not giving them sex.

Man, in the wild, males fight to the death for the privileges and that is what it is.

I think the young un’s have no idea how to socialize in real life. They have computer brain.
We all got computer brain some.
If I would not have had the experience of Living in the 80’s, I would be social retard.

Many women have been deeply unsatisfied with their hubbies throughout monogamy. They actually rather share a good man than have a boring one for themselves.

We're just not used to it, hence the hysteria on all fronts.

Strict monogamy/marriage is a new thing. For most of prehistory (about 2.5 million years) humans were like other mammals (especially apes) and females mated with the most powerful male for obvious reasons.

A lot of males missed out not because they were boring lol, but because they simply weren't the best choice of breeding partner.

"Socially imposed monogamy was first established in ancient Greece and Rome (even if sexual infidelity with concubines and slaves was largely tolerated). One of the plausible reasons, as explained by R. D. Alexander in The Biology of Moral Systems, was that monogamous groups were advantaged militarily over polygynous groups: imposing monogamy meant that fewer men would leave a group to search for wives elsewhere and would be available to fight in battles and pay taxes. As Christianity emerged in the Roman Empire in the first centuries AD, it embraced monogamy and took it further, insisting that two people must reserve their bodies and desires for each other, marriage becoming ‘an everlasting threesome with God’. It was Christianity that spread monogamy throughout the Western world, even as it struggled to fully justify its monolithic order on romance – no Biblical passages explicitly prohibit multiple partners (or, well, wives)."

I wonder if there are incel apes or lizards or bears...

Some male animal species battle to mate. The loser walks away then tries again. It seems to be a purely human thing where the male takes out their sexual frustrations out on the females.

Some animals never mate. That's chance x evolution. Humans are so fucking fragile and think they deserve everything. Life is harsh. The universe is harsh.

The biological determinist argument for how social systems are structured in human society...they're interesting, and I like learning about primatology and how chimpanzees and bonobos do things too, but the so-called incels actually fully embrace these theories. They don't ignore or reject them, they fully endorse them and it's at the center of their worldview. They argue that men, privileged by nothing other than genetic circumstance, are compiling "harems" of women who are reverting back to some kind of ancient mode of mate selection (although if you read a lot of stuff by archeologists who study the neolithic and anthropologists who study certain indigenous societies, a lot of women in "harems" weren't there by personal choice and it had more to do with those people being captured in raiding parties or warfare, etc.)...whereas they, the incels, have been doomed through genetic/biological determinism and are therefore screwed (figuratively not literally)

Taken to its furthest extreme, the argument totally disincentivizes ANY attempt at personal improvement whatsoever. The laws of biology/genetics has made you completely unappealing as a potential breeding partner, there's nothing you can do about that, so if you take on that perspective the doomer and nihilistic outlook of incels is completely understandable.

I used the word "boring" to describe the current or recent social situation (i.e cultural monogamy), not evolutionary history.

Aside from that minor misunderstanding, your reasoning is entirely in line with what i already described in other parts of the post you quoted

Thanks for pointing out the oxymoronic nature of “involuntary celibacy.” I had never thought about it before.

For me incels and pick up artists are in the same bag: Men who for some reason can’t figure out that women are human, that they want to be listened to, admired inside and out, and loved. Both these groups seem to see women as objects that they deserve to have; one group takes them by ruse while the other pouts in the corner. They should however treat women as people whose reciprocal love needs to be earned. How do you “earn” love? You do activities that build character so you are an interesting person. You take care of yourself physically. You listen when others talk to you. You work out your mental health issues the best you can instead of burdening others. You learn to be tidy, how to cook and clean, how to be organized.

The “women don’t like nice guys” bit is a load of shit. I know plenty of very nice guys who are wildly successful with women, and I don’t know any woman who is chasing after assholes. The women I know just want a man who is on top of his mental health, does his share of the chores, makes them laugh and doesn’t look too slovenly in public.

You are right, but u have a monogamy in nature also-an examples-the storks....and may be in some other species exist too.You have the same couple migrating&nesting in exactly the same place&nest....till the death of one....u can see homosexual attitude in animals too.Including dogs.....well they have not real sexual intercourse(the male ones),but they often climb upon each other. As to term involuntary celibacy.....i don't know what it is.From u heard the first time about such thing.

Yeah there is but "from the approximately 4000 mammal species on Earth, less than five percent practice any form of monogamy."

I'm totally monogamous (well, serial monogamist) and I find it hard to believe many more women prefer polygamy now. No woman I've ever met has been polygamous. My daughter & her friends (early-20s) are all monogamous.

LOL@"Involuntary celibacy". I'm going to make a meme and send it out there. I'm a total spelling/grammar Nazi because my mother was an English teacher and I won awards in school for English. I'm related to a poet/playwright who worked with WB Yeats! My best friend (who's in Switzerland so we email) has a Masters in Literature and Linguistics. So it's interesting and important to me and those two words don't make sense together.

I couldn't understand it.

Really, or like you "couldn't understand" the word "incels" when you made this thread?

Normally, "not understanding" isn't a debate technique. If i was being unclear, i want to know that for real. I usually don't have problems constructing readable sentences.

I also wonder what part you "couldn't understand". All of it, or my use of the word "boring", or what?

:)
