Good poppy seeds are my favorite, too. Although maybe methadone is better. They're similar actually. It's hard to find good seeds though. For years I had access to really strong seeds with a fantastic alkaloid profile, would make me nod and super euphoric for a whole 24 hours, lovely heavy body, pinned pupils, fantastic stuff. The same place now has shitty seeds, they make me itch like crazy but there isn't much of a high, though it does stop withdrawals from other opioids.

Methadone is definitely better but poppy seed tea has some similarities. More so than poppy pod tea (which is shorter acting than seed tea -- more accurately described as poppy seed wash).

Problem with the seeds is the inconsistency. Also if you dose too high the sickness it induces is horrible.

I love how long methadone lasts. I plan on looking into getting on a methadone maintenance program eventually, but I don't know how much that's gonna run me without insurance.

Yeah me too. It must not cost too much since junkies get on it and seem to be able to manage. Then again, they also manage to have heroin habits. But from everything I have heard, methadone provides a way to stabilize both in terms of not chasing a short high all the time, and financially. I always thought it was provided for free, but I don't actually know, having never been in a methadone program.

Aren't the pods better? I've never had good seed tea but the pods contain exactly the same stuff right?

The seed tea lasts a lot longer. Likely due to the fats forming a time-release mechanism. Whatever the reason, it does, much longer. The pods hit harder and faster, the seeds slower but much longer, which is why I prefer them to pods.

Depends on where you live and the specific type of program you're on.

For instance here in Australia, you can get methadone broadly speaking trough 3 ways (and I've been on all 3).

1. Public clinic, these are by far the most unpleasant, the people who go to them are arguably some of the worst off in their habits, they have some of the strictest rules about takeaways and drug testing, and have the worst staff.

But they cost nothing. Completely free.

2. You have private clinics, which are like the public ones but generally with much better staff, the cost money, but not much money. I was on one once but not for long.

Both of the above 2, when you get stable, might have you stop going to the clinic but rather get dosed at a regular pharmacy, then you can start getting takeaways, but it costs money, again not much though.

3. And this is what I've been on for years now. You go to a private doctor. The doctor prescribes the methadone through the states treatment program, you get your doses through a pharmacy.

In my case I pay nothing to see the doctor and I pay the pharmacy a dosing fee of roughly 110$ USD A month. So a few dollars a day.

This has, in my experience, by far the fewest rules and the least waiting around.

Different places have different rules though. The US for instance is one of the only western countries where methadone is only provided through a clinic. You can't get dosed at a regular pharmacy.

And in my experience even at their best clinics always have much longer lines than pharmacies. It only takes me about 20 minutes or so to get dosed. That's including everything. Driving there, waiting for my dose, and driving back.

I can't remember but it cost me something like $1,800 or $2,200 a month for my methadone at a private clinic here in the US but i essentially got to choose my own dose (i stopped asking for more at 380mg/day). This was over a decade ago. I know it was around $30,000 a year all said and done.

When i went to Australia for a while (it was actually to be with a girl i met on here, only brought 1 month of methadone with me and ran out) i tried to get a private doctor but that backwoods bogan of a physician rejected me so i had to go to a public clinic. The most they'd give me was 180mg. So i went down 200mg in a single day. I actually got pretty sick. I couldn't really eat for a few weeks. I actually never got accustomed to that 180mg/day and was sick for the remaining few months. It was "Warranilla" clinic in Adelaide, Australia and the front was littered with syringes. But it was a cool old building in an old Australia neighborhood with large old Australia estates. I miss Australia, the trees, the sounds of the birds. Being in Australia is like being in a piece of Africa that broke off and floated away. Perhaps that because thats what actually happened.

Morphine is better than oxy and way better than Dilaudid in my opinion.
Mine too, except in the hospital they ween you off at least to me they did, they went from Morphine to Dilaudid, and then oxy and sent me home with a script for oxys, eventually switching me to vicodin which was not as good as the oxys and eventually Tramadol. That's how I got my first taste of Tramadol, that was over a decade ago.

Good doctor though, I didn't get hooked on opiates.

Good to hear you didn't get hooked. You dodged a bullet big time. Tramadol gave me the worst withdrawals ever and I'm a seasoned addict that prefers much harder opiates.

I was always careful not to get hooked, though I enjoyed, I followed the doctors instructions, I had seen too many junkies in my neighborhood growing up and then in the 90's people I went to school with, and that always scared me,so I was very careful.

Except now when you have surgery done they don't give you what you need, and make you suffer.

I hear that. When I had my septoplasty 12 years ago all they gave me was 1 bottle of 5mg hydrocodone. They didn't know I already had a high tolerance. I finished the whole bottle in 1 night and it still wasn't enough to ease the postoperative pain (0 refills too).

They only gave me 15 pills of 5 mg hydrocodone which is percocet. believe that? I would've been happier with 30 pills at least, cutting bone out of your body is no joke and these assholes didn't care.

Hydrocodone is Vicodin, Percocet is oxycodone which is a good bit better.

I had a substantial injury to my ankle in college and the campus doctor prescribed me 800mg ibuprofen, and wouldn't even give me anything to set and stitch it up, so it hurt like fucking shit (worse than getting the injury). What a joke. An this was before the recent increase in oversight of prescribing opioids, too.

Im way old school here and voted for Demerol (meperidine). Back in the 80's when I had it IV, IM, and PO in the hospital it was pure euphoria. Even PO it was good. Ive never found anything like it since. Sigh.

I took Demerol once, a friend of mine who was a Heroine addict gave me a pill, I could swear I felt the effects the next day when I was I work, that was the first time and last time I tried it, back in the 90's, only because I was never offered it ever again, my friend was very cautious of getting people hooked on things that would lead to heroine use, that he would never give me, he said he wouldn't give heroine to his worst enemy, he said that's a life you never want to get into, because then your done, it's a like a death sentence.

He'd give some Percocets once in awhile and even xanax sticks as we call them here, the 2mg ones.

PO? What route is that? Also, you "never found anything like it since"? You'd be completely blown away by all the better painkillers then (I'm not by any means recommending that you try them though. Addiction sucks).

Heroin IV my true love

Around here good H is almost extinct but fentanyl is plentiful and i use daily but it takes more and more every time I use

Morphine IV was one of the most amazing experiences of my life those little red pills you had to suck the coating off and wipe with your shirt man they never failed me
