☮ Social ☮ PD Social Talk Thread: If 2020 Was the Dumpster, Can 2021 Be the Fire?

Wow... I did some 3-MMC and was just settling in for a long night of researching crypto and Bluelighting, when I noticed someone had gotten their car stuck in a ditch up the road from me. I went out to see if I could help. Met a really nice lady who was pretty frantic about it. Turns out she almost moved into the house across the street from me in 2019, but it fell through after she signed the lease, the owner said he couldn't do it anymore. She was looking at the house next door that is for sale. Anyway, I spent the last 2 hours trying to dig her out, and telling her half my life story (and vice versa), lol. Eventually we just couldn't get her out, so she used my phone (no service on hers), and tried to call AARP, and her insurance, and AAA. Somehow, no one was able to come tow her out. Then I offered to let her use my Uber for a ride home (her kids were worried and alone), but no drivers for Uber OR Lyft. So then I offered to drive her home. I went up to get my wallet and keys and then she called and said that she got out... she tried one more time and just popped out like there had never been a problem.

I'm quite physically exhausted now, but it was actually very pleasant, we talked about just about everything, and she is going to buy a ticket to my band's album release festival the second weekend of June, and we exchanged numbers.

All in all, a very interesting night. :) She thanked me profusely and said she was grateful for my help and my presence, and that it would have been the worst night she's had in a long time if I hadn't come over to help.

Whew just read through 8 pages of this thread to catch back up.
My work season is starting to pick up. By the end of May I will be balls deep into a summer of working seven 12s.
Might even be working 14s at some point.
Its possible I will disappear for a while and you guys will be all, "who's eDegen???" when I come back.

Hopefully the crypto markets don't crash out from under me this summer because I absolutely will not be able to follow them
for good chunks of time. But I honestly do think blockchain is finding its place in the world. We gotta take some of this
power back from the banks!

i hear this is a social thread i'm going to gently slide into the conversation
Sure do man, not too much of a conversation going on I fear, but I'm in a chatty mood since I'm on the remains of 150ug of DOB this morning. I'll be making a sandwich and see if anyone has come up with something interesting!
Again a classic DOB microdose which I may or may not regret somewhat, it's just too heavy, fun... but heavy and it has a serious impact on the way of thinking.

No internet where you're going? Sounds..... HEALTHY =D

This video really spells out why I think crypto is here to stay.
That doesn't mean it has to hold its present value by any means, but logically the projects that actually take hold will continue to sky rocket in value.
The energy consumption issue for BTC is temporary isn't it? There's only like 2 million left to be mined. Not sure what its future holds after the last bitcoin is mined.
I think the value will just go up as the real scarcity of it is realized.
It seems like a nobrainer to have digital currencies to me at this point.

No the energy consumption isn't temporary, the miners essentially verify the transactions, and they get BTC as a reward. The less bitcoin there is, the lower the rewards are, so with the current BTC infrastructure they'll never all be mined.
They'll probably change the bitcoin protocol in x amount of years but for now there's no clear solution for the energy consumption problem. Mining is necessary to verify the transactions. If it ever gets adapted that's gonna be a major problem with billions of transactions happening every day.

It is indeed quite an eyebrow frowning thing to do, and I have nothing to say for myself except that I enjoy DOB and it's a very interesting drug.

Sure 10ug is fine, you'll find out yourself what you like, less is more ime

Huh, I guess I just didn't realize the power consumption was going to be a constant for BTC for forever.
I bet there will be a fix for that at some point. Until then its not like there aren't numerous proof of stake options becoming available that will be considered actually usable....

Yeah there was a discussion on that here between Vastness, perpetualdawn and psy997 a while ago, lots of good stuff there but you'd have to scroll back a lot.
I believe they silently agreed to disagree =D

Since there's so much crypto talk these days, I'm sure some of you are familiar with the tale of Craig Wright, who tried and failed to steal $5BN from his dead business partner's estate (and also claimed to be Satoshi Nakamoto at one point)? One of the funniest stories I've ever heard in podcast form:

I avoid everything crypto these days, I keep getting bombarded with opinions, memes, news articles.. some matrix like dodging going on there.
I am thus more than happy to remain a poor and virgin fiat user.

microdosed about a hour ago starting to feel a surge of energy lets get shit done!

Gonna clean up my place right now write one assigment hand it in and then process all this fucking data on this aids chemistry software from the 90s.
