Depends where you choose to eat I guess.
Anyone that uses that term is an idiot....
Whoah whoah whoah - hold the horses a bit (watch out for more equestrianism in this post!) - I empathise with what you are saying but I don't think you needed to or hopefully, really wanted to, lash out like that at da man.
I get how ludicrous it is to listen to 'road mans' talk about 'their new food' and their shots' as if it is a cool and admirable thing to be selling heroin and especially when, due to only gaining such employment since 2010, most of them would not know a decent heroin from one that just sells - something that they were always capable of despite not using it themselves - I have never dealt with users and having grown up with alot of the reprobates I ended up blowing tens of thousands of pounds with I was often asked to test new brews with the dealers never putting out shit and considering I only ever came across one lot that was dodj (that diesel smelling stuff that wouldn't run) it seems that most dealers checked the quality, notwithstanding the nitwits that ended up with that diesel crap they could not shift for weeks (it was everywhere, requiring me to routinely buy a bag as a tester for a period in order to avoid it as the first 2 years of my habit saw me buying only 8 balls (with the odd teenth towards the end of the month), an unsustainably lavish plunge into addiction that only came to an end after losing my job and a couple of months later, running out of money.
But while I do not use it I do not see an issue with the term food - as I have explained above - its the context that comes across as twattish so when included in a reasonable and respectfully asked question I really do not think that most members, including da man - should just be labelled as idiots for using slang. If da man is not from our general manor then the one other possible 'miglands' could be the Irish Midlands. Although I have spent very little time in this corner of the world, I used to have a second family home in North Dublin where the employment of the most brutal slang was just par for the course among everyone from the cool to the tool.
@da man - I do not now where you are from so my apologies if my insinuations are wrong but it still makes the point, I hope.
As I said I would return to the equestrian references before finishing I always use the term 'horse' whenever I used to use socially with my close friends, due to the fact that it is so fucking stupid and archaic (I could really do with some 'orse). Yet I sound just as stupid when talking to the local dealers using a combination of bees or 'bobs' leaving me little room to roll my eyes when told 'I have whites I am just waiting on some food' or something to that effect.
Being reasonably familiar with your posts I am sure that your rant, while triggered perhaps by the word, was not directed at da man - if he is an idiot than he is no more idiotic than myself as not only did I develop a heroin addiction, I did so twice! After cleaning up for 5 years, including getting a new career and getting together with a girl I had fancied since 2001 I still relapsed within 12 months of my relationship breaking down and thanks to my weak ass caving in and getting a methadone script I have now been dependant and jobless for 7 fucking years, not to mention that when scoring I have to use all sorts of silly words instead of just 'heroin'. If that is not idiotic then I do not know what is. Those 'road mans' may sound fucking ludicrous at times but it is me who relies on some of them some of the time and despite many of them enjoying drugs - one guy who just sold weight was a raver who used to get me the odd gram of MD crystal from time to time and all of them smoke (and sometimes score for me) weed but despite being caners they have the nous not to even try what is regarded as the most extreme drug.
