Does anyone besides me find Kratom to be constipating? Maybe it was just the perfect storm, because I have severe intestinal issues. I have chronic pain, but it's sidekick (depression) is even worse. Opiate trials through PM have caused my bowels to shut down even further.
I tried Kratom (Maeng Dai) last summer. I ordered capsules because I projectile vomit on cue...knew I couldn't toss 'n wash. I took 5 (600 mg capsules) per day, as 3 grams seemed to be right for me.
I can say that it made me feel "comfortably numb" and productive. During those 2 weeks our babygirl Dalmatian died suddenly. I was upset, but not to the level I would have been if not for the Kratom. Sadly, my constipation intensified to the point of hospitalization for 6 days. I had a partial obstruction that although cleared with IV fluids, etc. It still has not resolved.
Kratom is fiber, right? But is it a soluble fiber? I realize these are newb questions, but please help me. My gut is a train wreck of disease, surgeries, chemo and decades-long agony. I've lost hope of ever getting better. I can't tolerate the opiates. I take Zoloft, but I'm in a dark place.
FWIW...I suffered liver failure in 1994 from a blockage of the common bile duct. I've never used drugs recreationally. I simply cannot take the pain meds and function, physiologically. I can't eat, sleep or poop.
