Share Something Positive from Your Day vs. It's All Around You

It's been a tough day but I was able to pull all the information for documents that we need for buying a place. I will probably be so emotional after I get the keys on the completion date. I dont want to be so devastated so I am trying not to think too much and hope too much...

@Maya, Mrs A and I were 26 when we took the plunge from rented to buying a place. In an ideal world ( well my ideal world ) housing wouldn't be privately owned but we donlt live in that world. It has turned out to be a great decision, we brought a place that had been empty for 12 months and was in a bit of state and have always managed to maintain a situation where we could sell up with no debt, nearly 20 years on we could sell up and buy a smaller place with the cash left over after paying off the loan. More dental work today, I've neglected this stuff in the last few years what with other medical stuff taking priority, they've decided to leave the big job done a few weeks ago as it still may need to nerve removing but it all stable and extraction seem unlikely so they sorted the other tooth that had a big lump missing around an old filling, they though ot might need a crow but he managed to drill it all out and put in one of those fancy new white filling that they cure off with infra-red (or something ) it went better than expected and you can;t even tell its had work.

I'm glad to be getting this stuff sorted if only so my kids don't keep pointing out that they go to the dentist every 3months and I haven't been for 4 years !

Took the day off work as well, no one will be back for another hour or more so I'm kicking back and watching TV :) ( I've already cleaned the kitchen)
 
Thank u guys for all the support. I am very happy with my decision. We are just in the process of scheduling appointments to get the place inspected but the agent of the seller hasnt gotten back to us. We have been officially approved for the mortgage so we are good on that part. The down payment is not high since we are first time buyers so it's an additional bonus :D
 
Last day of teaching for me and the second grade teacher asked the students to get in an "appreciation circle" and give me feedback for the things that they think I do well. Here's some of what I heard from 8 year olds:

"I'm grateful that you always give 1000000000% so that we get to do really fun projects with cool stuff."
"I like that you let me work away from the other kids when it is too noisy."
"I'm grateful that when we don't follow the instructions you never get mad and you joke with us."

and my personal favorite:

"I love you and you make me want to be an artist when I grow up."

Did I cry in front of the whole class? Of course!=D
 
Today has been a good day. Work is busy but not stressful. I have also scheduled the inspection at my new place. Also too, the minutes from the strata council was emailed to me today and im bout to read it. I am also going to meet up with my realtor tomorrow to review all the documents. Looks like everything is faling into place so far...

Thats really touching herby you will miss them a lot for sure :)
 
Built a PC yesterday and today to replace our main desktop mainly as my son is playing a few games and the machine simply wasnt up to it.

I few bits from work, and numerous bits scavenged from my PC graveyard and I got it built, OS loaded, other apps and user configs and installed it today. I had to butcher the GeForce graphics cards and bit of the HD carrier to get it in the case, a grinder was involved at point but it went in, finally.

Cost ?? nothing at all, smugness, priceless :D
 
Emotional but Amazing @ Herby. ^^ May sound cheesy as i dont really know u but i know enough that u inspire me to keep on going -like im sure u inspire kids u teach. Amazing. Thanks. X

I just put up a string of solar powered pink fairy lights out in my garden and I have to say that they are making me pretty damn happy atm.:D
 
Solar powered fairy lights. That's a great idea.. Reminds me I need to get some glow in the dark stars for my bedroom ceiling.

I made 5 litres if some really tasty Dahl. First time ever cooking bulk, is this proof that I can survive out of the nest? Time will tell..,
 
Been in an unusually good mood all day for no reason at all, that is something positive :)
Enjoyed the company of my pets (like every other day) but more so since my mood was bright. They enjoyed it too :)

@herbevore - that was a really nice post! Didn't know you were a teacher. Bet you are a very good one that your students will never forget :D <3
