Gibberings CXCI -- these tarts were made for popping

And secondly there are those cycles - those ebbs and flows.

Yep. We've had shit times, and we've had good times. Now is a good time (IMO). You can't please all the people all the time, but I'm enjoying EADD right now, despite its faults. :)

I'm really enjoying the recent influx of new posters. It makes the place vital and interesting. We should all welcome the new ones with open arms. They should not be put off by people who hark back to a "golden age"; as if everything was ever perfect here at any point in time.

I totally agree with this post. A few times I've been put off by people mentioning times before as it makes me feel like an infeeior poster. So I'm probably being a bit hypocritical. I pop into NMI sometimes to try bring them here. It is lovely to have new members here <3

I love you lot so very much <3 This by far is the best, nicest, most friendly, loving, compassionate, humorous forum I've ever been on n I feel privedged to be a member of Bluelight / EADD <3

I am being genuine today! It's my new name it makes me feel like a nice girl. (Plus I am too down to cheer myself up with nastiness today)

I'm sorry to hear that. I'd offer to entertain you with me tramp voice, but I don't see that working somehow.

Hope things improve for you soon. Go and stab a man or summat, Rosaleen. ;)

Send someone to paint my nails. That might help. I dont wanna stab anyone. Maim maybe.

Couldn't agree more, Best of luck with it tomorrow <3

I concur. I think anybody who spends long enough around EADD parts will sooner or later notice that it always has - and probably always will - ebb and flow. We get times where it's really busy and it's all but impossible to keep up with the number of new posts, and we get times where you can leave days between logging in and barely notice anything having changed. We get times when there does seem to be an especially close-nit group of regulars - sometimes this results in cliqueyness, other times in just a very pleasant atmosphere where more or less everyone gets along. Other times there are schisms and factions and such like.

The have always been two constants I am aware of though. Firstly there are people (and I include myself in this cos am often guilty of it) pining for some lost Golden Age of times passed and past back in days of your when EADD was all fields. And secondly there are those cycles - those ebbs and flows. Anybody who sticks around long enough is likely to have bouts of being the former which are best cured by awareness of the latter. A forum is whatever the regular posters make it which is why - even if some of the individuals come and go - EADD still always feels like EADD. Does to me anyway.

Thanks, i'll do my best - as always =D

Haven't been here for a long time, read some trip reports or some drug info threads before i joined, not the eadd parts. But it is how you said it, there is a period when it's overflown or either boring, or when people have their moments. I like that there's new people posting more, i felt weird when i started posting here but i got familiar with it pretty fast i guess.

I think it's nice how everyone tries to help each-other. I think that's the true spirit here, not the drama, 'cause drama runs the world atm anyway. There's plenty of lovely people on this forums.

My nails are in barbie pink this week, proper Barbie pink, rock and roll baby (i go crazy with my nails sometimes, life is too short for french mani) :D

Couldn't agree more with all of that, Felix :)

I am of the belief that we are currently emerging from one of our fallow periods. Things did appear to be at a low ebb for a while there but - as you mention - we've had a steady stream of quality new members joining, settling in and making themselves at home. This is just as it should be as new members are the lifeblood of any forum. Much as ye oldeskool types are valued for their ongoing and lasting contributions - and for helping to provide the continuity which gives a forum its unique identity - the place would inevitaby become stale and decrepit if it became too much of a local forum for local people style o' thing. I am very much in agreement with you that it seems that we're definitely on the upswing now as newer members become established and newer still members continue to magically appear beneath the communal EADD pillow.

As for any perceived Golden Age of EADD - I'd suggest it's much the same kinda thing as how the time any given generation picks out as being the zenith of modern history - the point from which all roads lead down to youths of today and not knowing one is born and such like - always somehow manages to coincide with the time that particular generation would have been in their late teens/early 20s. Much the same process behind pills not being a patch on what they were whenever any given individual first started taking them and going to parties too I presume.

U all right. EADD is great ;) <3

Why do I have a gf who let me buy all em benzos I want but if I say I want to buy sum mxe or other, she go bonanza. Bah :|

That's a good girl. I fed someone stuff like candy because they are a greedy gobbler and didn't know they shouldn't take too much. Lesson learnt.

My 2 cents worth - I think the attack on Sam is unwarranted. Yeah it's a bit cringey but they are enjoying it. Albeit I mainly lurk I think this place is far less edgy and dark than it has been at times in the past. I also agree with Shambles and Felix. Ps hello Felix I noticed you said hello when I posted drunk recently and I didn't get the chance to respond. I'm a mainly sober Irishman. Lurking is great when you have to endure multiple episodes of Peppa Pig

Heheh good girl girlfriend. depends on which benzos too and how aware of it she is :)

i'm fine if BCF does em but he needs to share =D

I think the point Nick may have been making is that benzos are highly addictive and when somebody has a history of addiction - and history of getting into problems of various kinds with benzos - MXE is probably the lesser of two "evils" if that person has used MXE previously without it causing so many problems. I think people often misjudge susbtances like MXE as they can appear so messy to anybody looking in from the outside who is unfamiliar with dissociatives. Benzos can seem rather innocuous as the person mostly appears to be drunk which is far more familiar and less threatening so therefore must be the "safe" option. Compare and contrast somebody going through acute benzo w/d and somebody feeling a bit glum cos they ran out of MXE...

(disclaimer: mxe is obviously a substance which comes with its own risk factors too but addiction is not really one of them afaik)

*waves at nick*

Hope and trust all is well in your world, Nick :)<3

Aye, but does she understand that? Probably not. To her (and the majority of the public), something that's 'like valium' is far less scary than MXE.

Quite right about the addictive nature of benzos making them more hazardous in some respects, though, but MXE has caused a little trouble itself.

You are responsible for your own actions - not your gf

Nobody's attacking me these days, you're right. Even when I drop me trousers and pretend to pass out in notorious toilet cubicles. :(

Sic transit summat.
