U pretty damn right there Shambles. I have big experience with MXE and also with benzos. And the (and I have tried told her many times) risks with those too are by far worse with benzos. And I don't want to lie about I do sum drugs. So benzos until I get her convinced that mxe (or other drug I can 'control') is OK to do once in a while.

Its going great man. Ok I still drink (not everyday but like 4 days in a week) and its too much, but aint got wd's anymore. So thats a plus. And im going to gym 6 days in a week. Life great. Hope u doing great ya self

I am, deep inside I am thankfully. But being the fiend like I am. Its hard to let go of em drugs. Hell I have not touched anything other than benzos & alcohol in ages (it feels like that). Got sum coke few weeks back but thats it.
Hire me as ya bodyguard mate (1 pint in an hour) and they won't come close to u, haha

I think the point Nick may have been making is that benzos are highly addictive and when somebody has a history of addiction - and history of getting into problems of various kinds with benzos - MXE is probably the lesser of two "evils" if that person has used MXE previously without it causing so many problems. I think people often misjudge susbtances like MXE as they can appear so messy to anybody looking in from the outside who is unfamiliar with dissociatives. Benzos can seem rather innocuous as the person mostly appears to be drunk which is far more familiar and less threatening so therefore must be the "safe" option. Compare and contrast somebody going through acute benzo w/d and somebody feeling a bit glum cos they ran out of MXE...
(disclaimer: mxe is obviously a substance which comes with its own risk factors too but addiction is not really one of them afaik)
