What's Good on European and African TV v. Walking the Dead

BBC.2 tonight at 10pm is the excellent Charlie Brooker's 2014 Wipe.
A satirical look back at the events of the past 12 months.
 
Anyone else watching Broadchurch on ITV? First series was a real corker so looking forward to seeing how this one pans out.

Also just started watching season 6 of SoA on Netflix now it's available.

Latest from Adam Curtis who appears to be on top form as usual. Feature length doc focussing on the way that politicians and media sources have oversimplified the realties out there in the actually real real world to such an extent that almost nothing we see or hear appears to bear any semblance to reality any more. His trademark use of dreamlike archive video mixed with pop culture - and indeed pop music - clips works especially well in this context. Excellent stuff.

And, as mentioned above, new series of Charlie Brooker's Weekly Wipe is also on iPlayer at the moment. Started well - his puns are spot on right from the getgo =D

I've just finished watching this. (Watched the first half in the bath last night.)

Yes, brilliant stuff as usual. But considering he was trying to teach us a more complete and nuanced version of events, I would have loved a bit more titling, explanation, and chronological order. And watching a soldier play with a bird was fine for the first 20 seconds; it didn't need to take up 5 minutes. (Maybe I'm just thick though.)

However, that's all just nitpicking. It was great and I certainly have a better perspective on Afghanistan/Saudi Arabia than I did before. (And I already knew it was all fucked up.)
 
In the early hours of this morning I saw an episode of Border Patrol that I haven't seen before and I thought I'd seen all 6 of the ones ever made

Its brilliant at the moment...not just because its got danny dyer/mick as landlord of the vic, but because several of the new characte are really amusing. Finding the love triangle between Stan, Korah and Sylvie (dots evil twin) particularly funny,

Watched a few episodes of Marco Polo, apart from looking pretty it was pretty shit...

See nextflix are advertising Better Call Saul - I'm not sure if it would be worth the streaming time or what. Anyone had a looky?

I liked Spartacus too just thought Marco Polo was a bit "soap" like. Mind I didn't stick beyond 3 episodes so I'll give it another go. Hubs say I kept falling asleep :o

Ahhh, I did belatedly wonder if that was what you meant!

I'm/we're definitely going to give it a shot. Looks like the first two episodes have been aired (and are therefore "acquirable"). :)
