The EADD Mental Health Support Thread II

Thanks. <3

I didn't curse you for leaving me in the lurch last night because I was pretty happy once the weed arrived and the whiskey kicked in. Not that I'd have cursed you anyway; people have lives that don't revolve around me, as weird as it can seem to me on occasion.

If the 'other' is what I think it is, then I'm currently habit-free. Just dabbling once or twice a month, but you're absolutely right. Again. ;)

I'm glad to here that but hate to think of you so down and worried about going to your psych. Do you not have a local community mental health team you can call into to speak to a CPN?. I do. I'd also like to ask you to consider asking for a referral to a psychologist - those bods are great. It's the package of care that really helps and keeps you out the hospital. And we want to keep you out of there (for now haha!!!) I cant be affording sending dandelions and lucazade south every week)

This is going to pass - nothing stays the same (apart from this fucking bastard back pain of mine, only kidding...it'll go too). But be kind to yourself, honestly you need to be cutting down on the bad stuff and upping the nutrients and good stuff.

2nd nag over (I do 12 a day you know) xxx

Only twelve? :D

My psych has expressed her displeasure at the resources available to her and has pushed to get me more help, but the fact is that I'm working and I'm not down on record as having made a serious suicide attempt recently, so in the eyes of local NHS bureaucracy I'm 'doing well'. We both find this hilarious.

I'm sure that once it's lighter and warmer outside things will begin to improve. Until then though, it's just frustrating that I'm getting nowhere fast.

You might have to go back to the GP and get them on side and in cahoots with your psych to get another referral out which means at least 6 months on the waiting list for a psychologist app. Things are obviously different up here, but its well joined up and it works well when you actually get into the system. Psychological services are usually a different dept to the psych's so its not easy to get the 2 of them matched - hence these local teams here work better, one stop shop kinda thing. My psych even comes to me!

The spring always helps folks like us but a better lifesytle makes a massive difference too. Get lots of good quality Vit D (sunshine vit) and B complex (the alkies helper lol) down you too - it'll help.Trust me.

And fucking eat.

Nag 3 over :D

<3

My GP and psych are pretty much in synch - I just think their hands are tied to a certain extent. I do have more frequent appointments these days and she's pushing for more. As you might imagine, South Manchester Mental Health Trust is overburdened to a farcical extent, but the people are good.

Alkie? Not me. Heavy drinker, y'know?

And hey - I had soup, right? I'm no longer the guy from the horror pic I posted last night. :) <3

Nag 4 - what nae bread or other carb? Or butter! Bit of fruit?

Keep asking, ask everytime. I know what its like when your working full time but you need to nag them (after all you've learnt from the best ;))

Get the Vit D - but don't buy the cheap stuff.

Yeah, I learned from the best alright! ;)

I had a seedy (huh-huh) wholemeal roll along with it. And I picked the biggest one too. See?

Erikmen thank you <3 I have a tendency to post in Scottish colloquial with friends on here - but if you are not from the UK, never mind Scotland please say and I'll clean up my Scottish slang :D

It's lovely to have you posting in EADD and we very much want to get to know you better. But say, if the local lingo is weird!
