Magic Mushrooms/ Psilocybin in the UK

I have ventured but I am happy being close to planet earth.... The thought of being on distant moons doesn't float my boat. You have to make your way back home that's the bit that makes me flinch

im near newcastle UK - friends have seen n picked few upto now

Most things nature wise tend to happen in the South first and gradually spead north over the next few weeks. So if they are around in Newcastle I'd venture that they are around everywhere south of there by now. I know for a fact that they first spring up in Mid-Wales during mid August. So its probably peak picking time everywhere right now. I think that it has been made illegal to be in possesion of liberty caps, ie picking them and taking them away from their growing field, but maybe there is a loophole that if you eat them straight from the ground then you can never be caught in possesion anyway. Picking them didnt used to be illegal, just the storing and drying of them. 8(

Also given that in general they tend to grow in isolated rural areas the chances of being busted are pretty low, unless you get a snide member of the public or an irate farmer/landowner spotting you picking and calling the 'bizzies' on their mobiles, and the bizzies dont happen to have anything more urgent to attend to at that time. All pretty low risk I'd say unless you're going to the same spot day after day spending hours collecting them by the hundreds.

The police spend hours sitting out in the countryside watching hippies and then stop them when they leave the field. They've got nothing better to do and it boosts the drug crime figures.

farmers have asked us what we were doing when we've been out picking - never came across police yet.

POLICE have created a "magic mushroom" patrol force in a popular forest after a dramatic rise in the number of people looking for the hallucinogenic vegetation.

Officers in Wiltshire have been drafted in amid growing fears that illegal suppliers could be seeking the freaky fungi which are classed as a Class A drug.

The patrols in Savernake Forest come after a change in the law meaning anyone discovered searching for the Liberty Cap mushrooms can face prosecution.

Six people have been arrested this week after being caught in possession of the "mushies" in Marlborough, Wiltshire.

What did you tell them ? It must have been pretty obvious what you were doing with all of you presumably trudging along very slowly and carefully staring at the ground. :D

The farmers seem quite polite up your way. You're lucky you didnt get the whole "Get Off My Land!" thing, or at least the "you must ask my permission to walk on my land". Allthough that would be the polite thing to do, chances are that unless the farmer is very naive he'll know exactly what is going on. Obviously it's probably better to try to find common ground, or ground that isnt owned by very possessive farmers/landowners.

Total size of UK Police force = 130,000 +

Total arrests in Savernake Forest = 6

Forgive me for not being quite shitting myself about this one yet Ismene.

EDIT The really funny thing? When you google Wiltshire police it gives a map, location and phone number. And then says "closed on Sundays"

Go pick your mushies on Sundays.

Hi i am all so form newcaslte and i have been picking as well i was just wondering were it is u pick in newcaslte i know of a fewplaces close but bot in newcaslte

I wonder if this year I'll get off my lazy ass and go picking, or I'll just buy them dried and in a baggie...

Some fond memories of picking libs with my mates, they're all terrified of psychs these days so a trip to the fields wouldnt be quite as much fun which is probably the reason I don't go anymore.

The Town Moor, Jesmond Dene, Leazes Park, Exhibition Park ?

Just grow some scotch - it's a lot easier than you'd think provided you get the spores from a reliable place.
Ive thought about it, I havent really looked into the details of growing but im sure the amount of time I spend away from home would lead to failure..

Im going to extract my own DMT one day, something ive just gotta do..

The kits and spores were available on eBay, last time I checked, but the spores aren't being sold on there now. It's totally legal to buy them, as long as you don't grow them, just like weed seeds. Have a Google, there's loads of sites selling them. It does look really easy to do. I'm going to have a bash at it, at some point. I'm also going to actually pick some, this year.

I'm definitely going to have a go at DMT extraction, as well, at some point.

yea got a couple links for the spores now but it does seem confusing still. Can you just grow them in tupperware inside a moistified bag?

edit: PF tek seems long

Im not in newcastle itself - im closer to teeside to be fair. I have come across a few small patchs, but nothing major as of yet. i will upload photos once i get a load together. either way there out earlier than usual up this way so im guessing it should be the same down south?
