It's just taking advantage. The information and "advice" they give out can be utterly atrocious as well at times. Again, only my own experience and some years ago now. I know their hands are a bit legally bound but if they're going to give advice make it accurate rather than just sales pitches ignoring all safety implications in the process. Not a fan of headshops - not as they currently (well, back when I last used one anyway) exist.

once had a mate who asked for something for an MDMA comedown and they recommended aMT. The level of irresponsibility is just unfathomable.
 
Never bought anything from a headshop, thank fuck. tried some branded RC stuff from headshops that people have shared around, they were shite

That's nuts. If not actually as dangerous the day after it's still gonna be a mess. When aMT started being sold in pill form I must admit I found it very worrisome given the lack of knowledge head shops are notorious for and the lack of advice allowed legally for online sellers. Am actually surprised there haven't been serious problems selling aMT in pill form given how iffy it could be taken in combination with MDMA in particular.

Amen to that. Though it's comforting to know that some of those hippies in search of an 'authentic experience' are being ripped off by ersatz medicine wankers who know far more about Miley Cyrus than than they do 'ancestral spirits'. :D

As for making your own brews, you know what I'm going to say - fuck aya, just get yourself some moclobemide and Coca-Cola and revel in the fact you're a lazy, thoroughly secularised western European. That's the kind of 'authenticity' that I can get with.

I posted a doc in the documentary thread that touched on that latter aspect. Fella who owned the shop was too scared to even film an interview. That was in (London)Derry I believe but got the impression it's a fairly common thing. Head shop owner is not a profession I would choose over the waters I must admit. I'll skip any specifics on such matters cos somebody will get upset and I know I don't know all the ins and outs, but on humanitarian grounds the level of violence (from documentaries not actual experience) is shocking to me.

Just making the same point to both of you. I have no clue what the issue is - or even if there is an actual issue - but when it spills over into the forum it's myself and the rest of the EADD staff who have to clean up. What may or may not be a personal beef between two people also happens to be against forum and site rules so staff really do have to clean it up even if nobody else gives a shit. Such disputes between some have become a real problem and that is why there is more of a focus on the particular rules around good conduct are being brought to people's attention. I know nothing of what has or hasn't gone on between the two of you but I have read several abusive posts - mostly coming the other way not from you and I've picked up on those particularly and was just pointing similar thing out to yourself for the sake of balance. PMs or ignore button or refer posts and/or PMs to staff if those don't work is the way to deal with personal disputes whoever starts them.
