Woke up stupidly early today and couldn't get back to sleep. Pottered a bit and now decided to clock-in early. No idea why I couldn't sleep but actually don't feel tired at all. Doubly odd as I got up unusually early yesterday too. I think sometimes tiredness breeds tiredness so maybe the opposite is true too? Or maybe I just have mild insomnia. Mornin', all :)

I hate the dawn chorus & light, especially in the Summer months... probably because I'm a very light sleeper^

I'm usually out of bed by 06:45 sometimes earlier.... my body clock just suddenly changed after a bout of mild insomnia. I did used to get up at 06:20 for School because I lived out of town so that might have something to do with it... been almost 10 years since then though.

My sleep goes like this: I generally wake up between 02:00 & 03:00am for a piss, then 05:30, 06:00... then doze, maybe fall asleep briefly & wake up at 06:30ish.

I prefer this to waking up at 04:00 then struggling to get back to sleep or waking up every 30-45 minutes there after... I actually feel refreshed these days.

I saviour the days I sleep for 5-6 hours without interruption. Very few & far between. I couldn't imagine sleeping through the night...

When I was living back with MamaSham a few years some birds nested on my windowsill. They drove me nuts over the spring and summer - was largely nocturnal at the time and dawn actually does get earlier every day over the sunny months which is most distressing for those approaching it from the wrong side.

It was kinda kewl to have a lil family taking shape on the windowsill though. Curmudgeonly cunt that I am at times I didn't feel the need to commit mad avicide.
 
We have a nest they return to in a small gap above sash window in bedroom..oh and they have a fucking cockerel across rd and so many trees so many noisy bastard birds..fucking owls at night. Bloomin horses being led past in day...oh and then the village church bells...tractors go past shake the house.

Fuck the countryside they lie about the peace and quiet. ..bastards 8o
 
So true^ I get less noise from traffic in town than I do from birds at my folks, which is basically in the countryside.

When I was 8-9 I was lucky enough to be on holiday in Mauritius & we would get woken up by birds every morning. There was a particular bird who would land on the door frame & tap on the panes of glass in it. Rat tat tat tat.... tat tat. :D

He flew in the room a few times when we had the door open too. If we put some bread or seed down, we'd end up with a dozen or more brightly coloured little birds eating them.

My cat's training going well...a sparrow this morning and a pigeon two days ago,,,how the fuck does a cat bring in a huge dead pigeon with wings outstretched through the cat flap???????? I have vision of cat reversing in.....

That was one of the things that really surprised me about living somewhere properly rural - it is so much noisier than living in town. Not in all situations obviously but certainly was in mine. The "country folk are so much friendlier" stuff is utter bilge too. The smaller the town the smaller the minds of those who dwell within. Imo, ime, ymmv, etc, etc.
