One of the many barriers to greater public understanding of drug science is that the research is often out of bounds. Thanks to donations, we’ve been able to make Drugscience’s latest major publication Open Access. The work suggests that if a tobacco smoker can’t or doesn’t want to quit nicotine, they shouldn’t let worries about e-cigs hold them back from switching, which could save their lives. If you know a smoker who is curious or conflicted about vaping, send it to them!

Apparently they sometimes accidentally die falling from trees, as they grab onto one on their own limbs thinking it's a branch.

edit; although that probably doesn't come under fun fact :(

I dunno why but I've been hearing loads about Sloths recently. They are pretty cool.

It is now mandatory to post a fun animal fact in each post. Mine is that otters have a favourite rock on which to smash oysters or clams or each other on a Friday night. Won't just use any old rock!

Hey they're great! How had I never heard of those before? Can't link easily coz of IPad but google imaged - cute as fuck.

Apparently three out of every four sloth deaths happen on the ground so you can see why they stay up the trees.

Final weird sloth fact. There are two types. Two toed and three toed. Two toes are nocturnal, three toes are diurnal. So what is it about having two toes that carries an evolutionary advantage to come out at night?

Final fun fact. Nature is great.

And three toed sloths only live in the Guiana Shield. I learned that from the BBC.
